Well done on the payments, you are doing well. Did you have the muffin and ice cream? I've got a thing for Strawberry Cornetto's at the moment, I never liked them as a child (didn't like the cone) but had one earlier last week and now can't stop eating them.

Another week of debt busting ahead, will check back to see how you are doing, I love your diary as it gets me motivated to pay more off mine.

TMD - i did end up scoffing the ice cream and muffin...only half a muffin though :p which has got to be healthier than a whole one?? right??!!

So an early morning update for me. have made my payments and updated everything already. Not a big day really....just £55.08 to black horse and £2.50 to saving account. So a total of £57.58 for today. Think that will be it for todays payments...waiting on my ebay money to land in my account.

Got lots to do today....ironing, cleaning, paperwork.....gggrrrr....and to top it all off its chucking it down with rain! Ah well.....serves me right for whinging about the heat last week :rotfl:

    afternoon.

DD asleep :j so having some me time!!

well i say me time....it always turns into money time!! Yet another reason to be debt free!!

No more payments made today but have been checking all the cards..including available balance along with interest rates. Considering we have between us 7 cards there is only one really whose interest rate makes me go  and thats one of the virgin cards...which is at 27.3% at the mo. Still need to get OH to call them to see if they can reduce it. the rest fall in between 0% (soon to end) and 22%.

So my plan of action..........shuffle the debts from the virgin card £3399.70 between the other cards with room on them....logical right??

At the moment virgin is the card im tackling in terms of overpayments....obviously due to it being the highest rate....should i carry on as i am or divide it up between the other cheaper interest rate cards??
aaarrrrgggghhhh what to do. Knowing my luck i will divide it between the cards and then their interest rates will go up.

OK so maybe for a little while longer i will continue as i am!!??!! i have at the end of the day overpaid the virgin card by £211.54 in 20days!! £295.12 when you include the min payment made aswell.

Right so after all that waffle im going to stick with the current plan :rotfl:
after all i want to see all these cards coming down rather than going up. And then i guess i need to consider the cost of these balance transfers...maybe not worth all the hassle.

time for a cup of tea me thinks??

I am glad that my diary is inspiring some of you...........it definetely gives me the nudge to carry on and make payments regularly. With the help of this website and the people on here i will make my family a debt free one!!

Wow - 27.3% is high, not sure what to suggest, I have done a few balance transfers the last couple of months and the 3% fee is a real pain.

I also have 7 credit cards which I owe on, I want to try and pay as much off of my A&L and Lloyds as the others have better rates, two Barclaycard one at 6.9% until paid off and one at 7.9% until paid off, my Capital One is 0% but not sure how long it was for as it always says interest next statement is 0. My Nationwide I don't have much on only a couple of hundred pounds so the minimum payment isn't much and I also have M&S &More card which is 7.9% for another year I think.

I've just written down a bit list of stuff to get listed on Ebay so hopefully can work my way through some of that tonight.

I'm trying not to let my daughter sleep until bedtime as if she falls asleep now she will be up all evening and I have lots to list on Ebay and sorting out the kids toys to do tonight.

Hope you have a good evening.

  • hello!!!

why not ring up your existing cc's and ask them to do you a deal on the interest rates if you transfer another balance to them??? most will but dont advertise that they do....................some will even give you a life of balance rate...................worth a try. they can only say no!! might not clear the virgin card but it will of made a dent.

ooo Rags i didnt think of that....will ring my cc's at some point today and see what they say.

OH rang virgin and they said no....gggrrr....something to do with the fact that its only been 3 months since hey reviewed interest rates on the account and to ring again in 3 months. So thats what we will do. The guy on the phone did spout on about something they now offer...he is ringing back today to speak to me as OH isnt very good at these things.....something to do with them make payments off your card if you have a baby, get married, etc.....obviously it costs something so i will suss it out later.

payments for today for me are:-
    £63.25 to lloyds cc.
    £12.20 to sealed pot
    £5.21 to lloyds saving account.

    total £80.66 :T

a good day i think!! Not sure i will be making anymore as am still waiting for ebay mony to land in my account! Relisted four items that didnt sell and now one will def sell this time to worth it. Still waiting for a payment for one item from last week...have sent an email to see if the buyer still wants it but no response!!

Another good day for you, that is brill, I'm sure you will be debt free before too long at this rate.

I'm overdrawn today as the Prudential Direct Debit that was meant to come out on 1st (I always make sure I have enough in my bank to cover it), came out today on 7th when I didn't have enough in my account to cover it.

Sod's Law, got lots of old comics to get listed on Ebay today so am working my way through them. How are you doing with Ebay?

TMD - ebay going ok, apart from one buyer still not paying up...am going to file an unpaid bid today. its been 8 days and i have had no emails, or response to my email. Only have a few dvds on there at the mo...one of which will sell. Am going to have a big sort out of DD clothes later and see what is still in good condition to pop on there. Also have a few of her toys i could list that are now just under the stairs gathering dust.

Well not a very big debt paying day today. Only transferred £2.29 into saving account!! yikes!! My money from ebay has arrived but i am off out tomorrow night so that £20 is funding my evening. I have £3.11 that i could chuck at a debt though so i will prob do that!

Had an appointment with the accountant yesterday and was shocked to see OH's net profit a lot higher than we thought...therefore i immediately got home and rang the tax credit people to tell them.........so looks like we will now be £200 a month lighter!! Its not confirmed for definite yet but i wanted to let them know now the possible figure as dont want to be landed with a big "you owe us ££££" bill from them later on in the year.

So my big debt busting has taken a hit!! Def need to start hitting ebay a little harder now i think. Where there is a will there's a way right??!!

So basically besides the money for tomorrow night we have nil pennies in our account!! And im trying to hold off taking anything from the business until the weekend!! We shall see though....my debt paying fingers may not make it til then!! :rotfl:

On the plus side my weight loss is now at 3.25lbs.....just another 6.75 til i reach my monthly goal!! :T

Right am off to see where i can pop that £3.11. :p
