well i have spent the morning moping a little over debts. Statement for virgin arrived today and despite me paying off all the extra money that i did....this month min pay and interest are more!! I have applied with lloyds to shift some of the amount to them at 0% for 6months. hopefully they will accept and then virgin will reduce to £1800. After the wedding we should be able to clear this in 3 or 4 months!

I have cheered myself up a little though and reminded myself that we are £3000 less in debt since april 29 (3months) so i should be proud.

Went food shopping today and only spent £20 as we still have stuff from last week...so a good result i think!?!

Once again i can not wait to be debt free!! Life will be sooo much better!!

At the mo i dont have anything listed on ebay and am struggling to find things to put on there. So giving ebay a break this month i think.

Right of to sort dinner out.

hey peeps..anyone still check in with me?

well not a good day today! feel deflated...after all that extra paying off last onth to virgin...they respond by hiking up the interest rate and increasing the minimum payment in order to cover the interest! so so so so unfair. How am i supposed to fight a battle when they have dirty tricks like that up their sleeves. Waiting to here off lloyds for a balance transfer of £1500 to them. Then i have an offer from a family member to clear my virgin and mbna card and then i will make the same payments a month back to them.....only minu sthe interest. Will think on it. i so wanted to do this on my own but gosh today feels like they simply want to keep us in debt.

once again...i cant wait til the wedding comes and goes so that i can really start with the debts!!

  • Just read through your diary and it has made me so motivated! Even though i feel i have a smallish debt of £10k on cc's and loans...it's still a debt. I'm going to look through my stuff to see what i can put on Ebay! Good luck and all the best!!

Hi, have been on holiday for a week so have only just caught up with your diary.

Sorry to hear about Virgin increasing your interest rate, Capital One did that to me yesterday, sent me a letter saying the rate is increasing to 28.9%, I've applied to A&L to transfer the balance as it's 3.9% until January, I only owe just under £800 but once I get letters like that I move the money as I have 7 credit card bills a month coming in so one good thing is I can condense them onto less cards, I'm thinking of transfering my Nationwide balance to A&L too so then I'll only have 4 credit card bills a month and I can pay extra off A&L and Lloyds.

It's such a pain, I will be glad when my brothers wedding is over and then the serious debt busting must begin, we are going abroad on 13th August until 17th so not too long to wait.

    Will check back again soon.

    Hi

That is good about the Bingo, which site do you use? I use B*t***s Bingo (not sure if I'm allowed to mention it in full) and I've never ever won on the Bingo.

I'm up to £7 on the scratchcards, it was 2 scratches today but only got 10p each time, I didn't do it while I was away so thought I might get a 50p win but no such luck. I don't always play the bingo but do sometimes when it is the 1p play maybe that is why I never win.

    hey,

i am on the mail online bingo, its quite good. guaranteed 10p on scratchards and most the time when i have the courage to play the bingo i win something. you get bonus rewards each time too, which is good. Just so glad i won today coz it covers my once in a lifetime night of drink and booze.

dont often get out coz i feel guilty but have had a few drinks tonight and now waiting for take away. yum.

its hard being in debt, because although i know we spent the money and its our fault...i just wish the banks would lower the interest....why dont they understand that i do want to give them the money back!! ggrrrr

    back to the wine xx

I've just checked all my balances and I owe £22,904.79 once I come back from my brothers wedding I'm going to see how much I can pay off before Xmas. I open my sealed pot on 1st December (Sealed Pot Challenge) so am excited about that to see how much I've got in there, still have 4 months to go and it must be quite full as I can hardly move it.

When are you getting married? I haven't been to a wedding for years since my cousin got married and that must be 10 years ago now, so will be nice to see my brother get married and see my eldest two daughters as Flower Girls in their pretty dresses and at least it's abroad which makes it into a holiday too.

Have a good weekend, I've got a lot of Ebay parcels to wrap up now and go to the Post Office before lunch time.
