    open a SNAD claim.
No point, Paypal will just make you post the item back to the seller... who obviously won't bother signing for it if they realise who's sent it. Basically, you've been done and there's not much you can do, other than leaving negative feedback for the seller. Maybe try looking at the small claims court... assuming you can track the seller down, and they're not using a fake address for their ebay/Paypal accounts.

  • Firstly you need to make sure there was no hidden things that could the seller could get away with saying that he was selling the box.
As this is sometimes the case.
If not then you can contact paypal and file a complaint with them. The good thing about paypal is if you have been robbed/conned they get you your money back...!!

Good luck + maybe next time you should try be bit more careful you can do this by checking certain things such as:
    -Hidden tricks
-How long the person has been a member
-By checking there feedback + feedback comments 1st.

Although none of them are guarentees but does usually help a lot.

Ok, I've been through this before after not receiving an item, so here's how it works.

First of all, well done for using Paypal, which completely protects you. Open a dispute for that payment, and they will ask you to describe what has happened. They will then contact the seller for his side of the story. If he doesn't respond in time, they will return your money to you.

He'd have to go down a hell of a route to prove he didn't send an empty box, and since it's recorded, the weight will prove whether he did or not. If the weight is heavier than the box, you'll have to take it up with Royal Mail, who have nicked DVDs from Play.com from me in the past, so it's not unheard of.

But yeah, Paypal favours the buyer, so file that dispute ASAP!

Log in to Paypal, and go to the Resolution Centre, from which you can click 'Dispute a Transaction'. The rest is self explanatory.

I think you missed some info when you read the OP. Something has been received and was tracked to delivery therefore this isn't just a case of 'item not received' as a dodgy seller can prove something was delivered.

I am also concerned though that this is the hidden 'box only' scam, there were a couple i noticed when I was recently browsing, however, yes it is worth contacting paypal immediately as the way forward here may be a SNAD claim, whatever happens htough they should log your problem in case the seller has funds being held for 21 days and can stop them from being released while you argue your case.

As before a link to the item, by pm if necessary, would help the more experienced give correct information.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Exactly, if the sent weight was the same as the received weight an empty box was sent. If the sent weight was higher, it's been knicked/removed.
The original listing needs posting to verify it wasn't a sc4m.
