Might be interesting to check that the auction did not ,in very small type, say that it was a box only. A link to the item possibly??

I don't do Ebay but if it was advertised as an empty box surely that's still defraud by deception.

Been done many times in the past. Not sure if buyers got their money back.

I don't know if they have the same policy now but a few years ago I got sent a dud product I bought via ebay. I went through the dispute channels of Paypal they refunded me the money, saying that if the other side kick up a stink then they will go through their full dispute process. The other side never contested it so the matter was dropped and I still had my money.
Do you have any reciept of the postage - does the value of the postage show how much the item weighed or if it was insured? I don't know if it would help but I'd keep all postage and records for evidence just in case

    Great,
Have you contacted the seller yet? Might be interesting to get his/her excuse.

This happened to somebody else not long ago, might be the same person? I'll see if I can find their thread.

Here it is. Not sure if the sellers name is in this thread, might be worth contacting the OP and asking them for the name. If it's the same seller and they've done the same thing to two people in a few weeks, paypal might be more likely to do something.
