Of course it will it did me when I started here, there are so many lovely people on her doing different diets, more exercise, less, each one has a story and each one is on the road to weight loss and success, there is nothing but fab hints tips, experiences, losses, gains, all great on here, start by taking your measurements down, write them in a food diary, keep all the weight/measurement/foods/drinks intakes in one place, take a photo if you want of the before and after, move about more, stay away from the supermarket when you are hungry, eat only stuff you like don't force yourself to like say parsnips or spinach or lentil whatever if you don't like it the weight loss becomes a chore, look forward to your food, watch the portion sizes, cut out sugars if you can cut down on the carbs, buy sugar free jelly and eat that when you need something, no added sugar angel delight, have a bowlfull of salad bits to snack on, celery sticks, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, etc0 -
thanks victory you have been very helpful, i think thats wat puts me off diets cos i always try eating things i dont like.0

yes that is sooooo lovely of him Victory - really spontaneaus and therefore genuine. He may be carp at birthdays and he always will be I think - but spontaneously writing that is surely worth its weight in gold. What a week eh - fabulous trip to B, birthday meldown, LO meltdown and now DS1 results and OH writing that! Hang on to these golden bits.
Great advice to shopaholic too:T.
Thanks for th chart granny - promise to have a minus figure soon :rotfl:
Thanks for your tips re mum's talk - very helpful too. I was just thinking in bed this morning that she must remind them when sent away that there were no mobile phones, or internet for communication (in fact no landlines for the likes of them) and her dad in the navy - no way to contact him to say good night or anything. You've made me think further - no just going to the fridge for a snack when ever you wanted either. And you ate what you were given! Yes, I can confess my mum is really lovely and great with kids of that age. That's why I wanted to share the experience with her (she's 81 now).
Last day at work today and then 2 weeks leave, not returning til 29th:j Which is kind of nearly 3 isn't it:D. The down side is it is unpaid because I have already used up my 4 weeks leave across the year to have regular rests and recoup my energies as the arthritis & drugs do tucker me out . But I have a great boss who enables me to take this extra leave so I am very lucky there. Got some lovely treats lined up: meeting friends, a woodcraft fair, a medieval fair etc as well as hopefully lots of time to indulge my hobbies.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
