dmv - sounds like you've been having a rough time, but you also sound as though you're aware, and prepared for the time ahead. Acknowledging the hard work ahead of you, and accepting it now will probably make it more doable. Sorry the relationship with your ex hasn't worked out, but it takes a strong person to not only know it, and then act on it positively. Wishing you all the best for the future, and I'm sure after the next couple or so weeks are out of the way, you can begin to let things settle down, and maybe then you'll feel more able to eat more healthily - I bet you feel loads better once you do.
Victory - I'm with you on the washing front. It's like what my mum would have called a 'Chinese bag wash' in my house almost permanently. Just glad it's really windy, as it at least dries inbetween the rain showers.
kpc - what a lovely tribute your OH made. Hope you both have a fun day.
Intergalactic - that's a good loss. Well done.
Mazza - Portugal is lovely no matter what, really. We started off in Albufeira, but didn't like the accommodation, and got ourselves moved. Villamoura was much nicer.
feefee - welcome back! I hope the holiday was good.
BB - we have an event in our town today for the cricket, and Chris Tarrant and some of the Hollyoaks people are due to be here for it. How is your lodger now? Is he recovering well? Have you reached a point now with your reorganisation and moving things out/in/about that you're happy with?
My OH and I are back on an even keel. We had a good chat yesterday, and he has apologised, and tried to explain his behaviour. He says he was trying to use some reverse psychology, but was also very ticked off with the children generally ignoring him when he asks for simple things like tidying up, putting bikes away, keeping their rooms tidy. Remember we only moved in fulltime with him in April/May, and before that he lived alone, so it's been a bit of a big change for him. I think I have tended to just not focus on these 'little things', because with children, and so many as I have, there's always a bigger issue to deal with. Tidy rooms is often very low on a list of priorities. I have to respect his wishes, and understand that, and he understands that I will protect and defend my children to the hilt. Anyway, we made up in the best way possibleand now he loves me dearly again!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, they mean a lot. The hardest thing for me is that although my relationship wasn't perfect thats not why I ended it. My ex is a lot older than me and I decided I'm not ready for kids in the next few years, and when I do want them I want them with someone my age who can help me and do things with them that he wouldnt be able to do. Also it hit me that I would be a widow very young and knowing the sort of person I am I wouldnt move on so I decided I either hurt myself now or struggle and not have some of the things I would want for my kids and then hurt when I spend the last 15-20 years of my life alone. So now the plan is finish my degree here, work hard but travel back home often and have fun with my friends as much as I can then move back in May and do a postgrad course there. Basically spend a couple of years at uni knuckling down but also spending a lot of time with my friends who see each other all the time (I am jealous) then a couple of years focusing on a career (hopefully teaching) and then think about the whole settling down thing once I know who I am and what I want more. I thought I knew that and now I'm not so sure as this relationship is all I have ever known so I have moulded myself to suit him, as opposed to gone into it with my own idea of who I am and what I want from life. Urgh now I want to cry again.
Had breakfast and then got a toffee crisp craving so have bought a pack lol, he will help me eat them though so not all bad. Its just so cold today. Feeling a bit better health wise but am all coughing and mank lol so am definitely fighting off a cold, still must start uni work tomorrow. Have a good one all.0 -
that's made my day sary to hear you & OH had been able to talk through the what's and why's and that you are both happy again.
Lodger is looking and acting a lot better - a spring in his step. Ribs are slowly healing: shoulder still broke and awaiting decision/appointment as to if and how it can be pinned. So he is still off work and limited in what he can do, but it's good to see him more himself and in less pain.
As for my moving things around...the bedroom is perfect: it has been so easy to keep all our clothes and shoes tidy with the storage space I created: everything has a home and ther is no space just to dump stuff so it is never untidy and always a cool quiet space to retreat to.
The front room rearrangement is working well too and I am very pleased with myself that having given myself a creative corner, I am sitting at the desk and using the space. Still need to work on prioritising that more though. I still however have a lot of decluttering to do and have taken a break from that until I get another wave of decluttering ruthless energy.
Very MSE, I am forming plans to remake our bed - don't mean pillows and duvet but carpentry: at present it is a single and guest bed put together(making a super kingsize, which i need to be able to actually sleep with OH), but it is longer than it need be (i.e longer than the mattress) and the guest bit isn't really designed for permanant use. I could shave off a few inches by making legs inside the dimentions of the frame rather than outside, and the room it is in this would make it that bit easier to get around. It would also get rid of the footer on the main bed which gets in the way. OH will grumble and find every negative reason not to however better it would make things for us so i have learnt to just get on with it. But still in the planning stage.
kpc:T:T Hope it stayed dry.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Afternoon guys, well as they say all good plans can go haywire and mine usually do. Supposed to start SW last Tuesday but simply didn't manage to get there. Have decided that it could be a royal pain trying to get there every week so I am going to have a go on my own..Starting tomorrow. Been to gather SW friendly foods today so should have no problems. Weighed myself yesterday and was a good 1/2 stone less than I thought which is a big uplift for me. What is the weigh day for the thread?0

Hi all. I'm back after having given birth to my 10lb 4oz DD 6 weeks ago - I hope some of you might remembers me. Sadly, I am back at the beginning of my next weight loss journey with almost as much to lose as last time (!) I may not have much time to catch up on the thread due to sleepless nights etc but I would still like to be on the chart please Granny. I am looking forward to get back into exercise again but not for a while yet as I have no time (and it really isn't an excuse I promise).
I have been watching my weight since the day after I gave birth and I am 14lbs down but I will zero the counter so-to-speakm Weigh myself on Wednesday and them post weight loss (hopefully) the following Wednesday. Hopefully you guys will keep me on the straight and narrow again.0 -
