Mrs Beaston - HHS is half hour study and HHC is half hour challenge when we actually do flying! xx

Edited to add - in my hhc I - put a wash on, emptied upstairs bins, sorted some underwear, made a phone call I needed to make, washed a saucepan and a sieve and prepared the clinic for work tomorrow. Not too bad! xx

I have done absolutely nothing today, and its been very nice :D I lay in bed and read my book, and then I had a nap. I've sadly finished my book, it was a really good one and I want to keep reading it but it's ended!

I did hang out some washing and put the dry washing away but that's been it. I will probably wash up later. I'd better get a move on tomorrow, as we are going away on Sunday and I don't want to have to clean and pack on Saturday as DH will be [STRIKE]in the way[/STRIKE] home.

Soappie, that Black Lace Conga song is sooo cheesey! It did make me laugh, and so did the Benny Hill thing Sarah

Welcome Loshy and well done for all your hard work today. Don’t overdo it tho, or your enthusiasm will wane

Carlsberrgal, My nan has to avoid citrus things as they make her a lot worse. It may be that not everything on that list will make your arthritis worse, but it’s worth avoiding some of them and seeing if you feel any better?

FFP, 13 carebears! Cool! Are they yours or HRH’s?

Polly, hope your lovely dog is feeling better soon and that your daughter has a great time in China. I’ve got some friends who are learning Chinese and I’ve met a few Chinese people and they are lovely

LOL Major Jock Stirrup is on the news, it always makes me giggle when I hear his name I don’t know why

Fedup I saw that charity shop programme with Mary, she did an amazing job! I would love to go and shop in that charity shop that she made over, and I’m so glad that Save the Children are going to roll out the idea across all their shops. I would love to go and sell my knitted stuff in one of their shops. I wonder if other charities will copy the idea, I hope so. I never really shop in charity shops cos they always seem to be full of tat, but if they start having nice stuff I would definitely shop in them and donate more

i'm feeling sad...going to an intake evening at dd secondary school at half 6 ....where has the last 11 years gone?!! flying ...... more washing and drying .......xx

It gets worse - you suddenly reach my stage of life when the last fledgling is about to leave the nest and you wonder what you'll do rattling all around on your own..... ~sniff~

Had a bit of an almost sniffy moment this afternoon. Last weekend, DS and I were talking about the beef I used to buy when I was working in Exeter. I stayed away Mon-Fri and on the way home used to stop off at a farm shop and buy the tastiest beef you've ever had (it was from Ruby Red Devon cattle).

I sort of jokingly suggested I drove us both to Devon on Saturday to buy some more. He said he'd like that so we agreed we'd take a trip out. He came home from work this afternoon and told me he'd turned down an invitation to a bbq and the cinema with his mates because he was going to Devon with Mum to get beef. I felt quite choked....

But, I have just discovered a new garden resident who can keep me company so all is not lost. I have a Toad! I was watering the plants (again!) and decided to move the potato bags about a bit and feed them. As I went to move the last one, I opened the bag a bit and there he was - Mr Toad, living in my potatoes doubtless feeding off the slugs that were there too. I am content for him to be there and watered carefully around him.

Off to make non ruby red beef stew for dinner

It's gone really dark here so am guessing that rain may be on its way

I really must tackle these assessments now ..............
