Did you move here for work purposes? If so, try Edinburgh. It was amazing to my mind but I have a couple of friends who travelled through form , one of them Lanarkshire each day (Strathaven) the other from Ayrshire (Stewarton) to work in Fife. They didn't seem to unhappy although the traffic has increased greatly since then.
Linlithgow gets a good name for residency. I know a few folk who chose that spot and are happily settled with the amenities of the city within easy reach and the calm with rambling opportunites of the countryside on their doorstep.
Edinburgh's a great city: the amenities of a city with the feel of a town. It's rare to walk in the center without bumping into a friend with whom to go coffee drinking.
By the way, if you want to thank someone, there's a "Thanks" tab next to the quote tab under each posting.
But thank you for your thank you. lol!
Hi yes to be honest im struggling here myself in Fife , myself and my partner moved here after living well fulltiming in a caravan we bought in 2004 , we are originally , well i am from Preston and my partner is from Leeds .
Work wise no to be honest work is none existant up here .. we are now looking at poss moving back closer to home on the Lancs /Yorks border , im struggling with not being around a biggish town /city with ref to everything being on hand , poss home sick who knows !
Yes we like Edinburgh been there a couple of times , firstly when we came up with the caravan and sayed at Morton Hall Near Straiton and secondly when we revisited last year and came lo Linwood and stayed there near Livington . So all in all yes we are def looking at moving back down south , it concerns me not only for myself but people who grow up in the Kirkcaldy area that there really isnt enough for the kids , maybe thats something for the local council to contemplate .......0 -

Thats the one FR, you obviously knew the shop I meant, funny sort of place but we have been lucky there. Last time, much to daughter's disgust, I bought a gypsy style skirt there for myself for a fiver in their sale.
That and a couple of bangles in just the right colour in their £1 basket.
I think there is a saying about if you can remember wearing something the first time round you are too old to be wearing it the second time round. Problem is I am beginning to remember wearing things at least two cycles ago although in time honoured fashion I don't remember the 60s at all.

Cummings is a great wee shop but you need time to do it honour.
The crinoline and bustles were a bit of a pain when trying to sit, though: designs were encouraged by men, no doubt, to keep women on their feet or backs. te hee
No, manzeses, I don't really think you behave thus (well, most of you anyway).0 -

I suppose it depends on what you are after. If it's city/large town amenities, then Fife is the wrong place to move to, not having any towns larger than Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy or Glenrothes.A_LANCASHIRE_LAD wrote:Hi yes to be honest im struggling here myself in Fife
However, if you want rural peace, beautiful scenery, picturesque country and fishing villages, lovely coastline, great restaurants and relatively cheap housing, you are spoiled for choice with NE Fife, the Howe, the East Neuk and the St Andrews area. For city/big town attractions, we are 20 minutes drive from Dundee and Perth, 35 minutes from Edinburgh and an hour from Glasgow. We like it so much that I choose live here and commute 110 miles to and from work every day. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.
