  • I have just been on the Biotex website and sent them a message to ask about buying Biotex in the UK. This was their reply:

Many thanks for your enquiry via the Bio-Tex website.

The previous UK distributor of Biotex ceased trading late last year, hence your difficulty in locating stocks.

DCS started to distribute both the powder and spray a few months ago and stocks are now re-appearing on supermarket shelves.

We have made deliveries of the powder into Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsburys and Asda central warehouses, and the trigger spray into the Co-Op and Poundland. We suspect that as it has been unavailable for a while, people are bulk buying when they do find it, so it may take a little while for stocks to build back up and for it to be freely available again.

I hope this helps you track some down.

So, the Waitrose assistant was right! Good ole' John Lewis!:T
  • I found it at Waitrose this morning at £1.99. I am trying to locate it for a friend who lives in Singapore and will come back if I do find a Far Eastern supplier! Best wishes to all

Vanish and Napisan seem to be the same product - at hugely differing prices!

Still haven't been able to get any biotex here, I bought all the supplies from 99p shop and they haven't replaced it. I am currently using the expensive c**p vanish. It does not work, trading standards should take up the case.

My local 'corner' shop stocks Biotex, I always soak the kids school polo shirts each half term and always get it there. If its not back in your local supermarket yet, have a look in any smaller grocery stores that are local.

I always get my milk there too as its from a local dairy and they sell it cheaper than tesco!!

I checked in Tesco and all they had was a massive display of Vanish, which incidentally is on special offer. Probably can't get rid of it because its rubbish.

Where can I complain to Tesco to get them to restock Biotex.

    £1.99 for 500g.
Cheaper in Sainsbury's if your branch has it (I haven't tried Newbury) - 1.86 or 1.88, I think.
