  • Another payment made to the loan... signature also updated with the figure.

Not much else happening except work (which im quite pleased about this week as I did have a panic last month about not having much booked!)
  • Well ! Checked my email (hadnt been around much to do so the last week or so) and had an email from my anti-virus company. My renewal date is next month for the product I use and they have taken it upon themselves to renew it for me and charge the card they had on file. I checked my account details on their site and it was my CC that got charged £60 ! Apparently this "feature" of auto renewal was agreed upon when I first got the package... never heard of it but ok.

Anyway so I contacted them, they have a very helpful chat service with customer service. I said that I like the anti virus software its easy to use blah blah blah BUT I wont be paying £60 for it since last year I paid only £25. I understand that products go up in price but to double and then some for people renewing is a bit off. The person was very helpful and said they would cancel the £60 renewal and refund it and gave me a "special loyalty price" of £28 for the same product ! Quite happy with that.
  • This month has been alot better financially than I thought !

I still have quite a bit to buy for christmas presents (im not as organised as I usually am this year !)

My credit card has been used because of the straighteners and hairdryer and then the anti virus stuff though so thatll have to be paid off this month aswell.

I think I could leave this year credit card free but not overdraft free, although I am so proud I managed to get my overdraft to the point it has and been able to pay the bills throughout the year. Also reading the other diaries on the board, Im so happy other people are sorting themselves out financially and looking forward to the future. I know that being in debt feels like a big weight on your shoulders and that you can feel left out with friends/family if they dont quite understand your stress which is why I think this board is so important. Well done guys and girls :)
  • http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/banking/2009/12/pre-budget-boiler-scrappage < ill have to look into that in more detail for next year
  • Well as much as I would like to say that I have been too busy to post due to work and making money, I have sadly been ill in hospital :( Alot better now but had to cancel quite a few shifts which Im annoyed about (although I do realise as people keeping pointing out that my health is more important than clearing my debt asap).

    Hope everybody is well.

Will do a proper update when im back up to date with everything and how I will work the money situation without the other shifts.

Oh Claire - hope you are feeling a bit better. Your friends are right - your health is more important than clearing your debt. Hopefully you will be back on your feet before Christmas. Looking forward to some positive posts soon! x

    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%
  • So much has been going on with my family, friends and work the obviously something was going to have to give with me and it was my health. Im told all the time to give myself a break and make sure I look after myself but its hard when your pulled in a million different directions. Which in turn makes me feel quite down and that doesnt help any situation !

    So starting a fresh today.

I still feel quite unwell and I have literally been told by the doctors to be lazy lol, which is hard ! I have caught up on my day time tv and I am bored out of my skull.

Checked the money front and it isnt as scary as I thought it was going to be. I have only 2/3 more christmas presents to buy and thats me sorted. I can get them over the weekend.

My overdraft and credit card wont be away by the start of January like I had hoped but def by the start of Feb. Then I am going to start saving up for my car !

I am just about to start working out how much my tax rebate should be for my letter to the tax office so that Ill be first in line come April :) I am on emergency tax because I have two jobs and one doesnt have a fixed income each month. I think £250 maybe more, so Im going to go work out a rough idea on paper. This will go to SAVINGS ! I refuse to leave the debt free board even with savings though and you cant make me :P (plus I will still have two loans, 1 of which I cant pay off early without getting hammered in early repayment charges and the other one cant find any info on over payments in the paper work ! Will get round to that when the time comes though)

Not to put another downer on my diary but I was thinking that I cant think of one person who has had a good year. Then I really started to think about it and I REALLY couldnt think of one person who could say "this has been a good year overall". To end this year a family friend has passed away and also a friends family member.

I honestly cant wait for the mental kick up the backside a new year brings. 2010 will definitely be a good year, I can feel it in my waters (as my nan says :p) and even if its not i'll make it a good year.

I am still not feeling 100% but Im going to work tomorrow as I have alot to do. I have also written a list of things to do around the house and financial things I need to sort out/look into.

My family have said that they are going to give me money as part of my christmas presents. Im going to put this into my mortgage account as I know if I keep it in my current account for the bills. Its not bad for it to get spent on the bills but mentally I think itll be good for me to know that I have a stash of money for goodies or to put towards a car :)

I have tried to get my head around the mortgage stuff. It says in the paper work that the interest will be changed to less than NR's current SVR when the fixed interest comes to an end. The paper work gives an example of a 1% increase meaning I would pay £30 extra a month and as the NR SVR is 1% lower than that of my current interest rate I think this means my payment will reduce come Feb by over £30.

I have no idea if that makes any sense at all ! That is just jibberish sorry but that is my understanding...
