    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi Claire,

Just found your diary - you seem to be making great progress so far, really well done! Just saw the bit about the positive balance on your current account, that is a fantastic feeling - I am so excited about the day when it stays positive all month.

I don't understand the bingo site stuff at all, good for you for making it work.

Hope the doctor's results are okay xx
LBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.
  • Thank you Katy :)

Well that positive balance didnt last very long but it was great to see it for a while.

The bingo britain one is really easy ill pm you the details if you want, its good if you can get a few wins in. My luck seems to have ran out at the moment :(
  • Done all the washing yesterday and the ironing I could of the clothes that had dried in time.

Dishes all done and put away (not my favourite thing to do so really had to force myself lol)

Also wrote out my christmas card list, well prepared and using left over cards from previous years. (the way i worded it there made it sound like I was scribbling out my name to reuse them ! lol bit too far for mse for me!)

Hoovering and cleaning the floors later before work.
  • Just when I thought my BB wins where a thing of the past won £15 :)
  • 4 more days til payday, wish it was today. I have money in the bank but I just like all the bills getting paid.

I SHOULD have 200 left in my account after all the bills are paid this month. This is mostly going to be for christmas presents. It does help that most of the presents are coming from boots (3 for 2 :))

I highly doubt I will meet my goal of being overdraft and credit card free will be do-able next month.

Somebody will be moving in next month as a short term thing before they move to their new place. Thatll help but my 2nd job are having a laugh with my shifts (ie not giving me any !) so Ill just break even next month.

However, I can make all the bill payments and buy presents this year and pay my debt off a little bit. That is the main thing, doesnt stop me feeling like crap though.

Awww don't feel like carp, maybe you could use your spare time to read up on matched betting (and explain it to me ...)? Hope you haven't posted for six days as you are busy and not because you feel low.

  • Hi Claire - you are doing really well! Every £1 off the debt each month is good. How are you feeling about your lodger? Not sure if I mentioned that we have one and I find it great money for not too much hassle.

Keep your chin up, more work will come along! Mel x
    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%
  • Ye FF Ive been busy but lurking around. Nothing much to report though. Been paid and more money paid to the debt but at the same time I have used my CC - I know, bad ! My hair dryer and straighteners broke within days of each other so spent 60 replacing them.

Will do a proper update later on.

The lodger situation Mel is a bit complicated. Long LONG story. Its not the person that is meant to be moving in, its somebody else until the first person can move in.
  • As you guys probably noticed Ive been a bit down the last week or so. There is alot going on with friends and family at the moment and I have a habit of taking other peoples problems on as my own. Trying to keep them positive though and help where I can.

    On the money front.

Bills all paid except my loan as the DD comes out during this week. Will update my signature with that at the weekend.

Gas and electric bills came in last week so they are paid aswell. I havent been using my gas much so it was less than £5, quite pleased with that.

Made a small over payment for the double glazing so I think it should be at around 2935 when the payment clears. Slowly (very slowly infact) reducing.

Got a few shifts booked through my other job so my bank account shouldnt look to bad come January. Still got quite a few days where I can fit in more shifts though, the manager is going to get back to me if they need cover for those days.

Christmas presents bought for 2 of my best friends. Two more friends to buy for and then just 4 family members. Boots is great ;)

December shouldnt be too expensive for nights out, only got 2 planned and then maybe new year. I dont fancy going out for new year but its one of those ones that I know my friends will harass me into :p

Surveys and scratch card update next :)
