  • Hi Clare - hope you're feeling better - make sure you don't overdo it by trying to get there too quickly, you need to be healthy and happy as well as debt free!

I'm positive 2010 is going to be a better year then the one just gone looking forward to making it the year I become debt free!! :)
    Debt Free since 2012
    Current Savings £1,400
    Current Mortgage £143,398.27
  • Thank you guys :)

I have decided other than work I am going to shut out the world outside of my flat until the 1st Jan and then go for my fresh start. Already started planning next year, lists and lists lol
  • Merry Christmas everybody :)

Financially I havent made much of a dent this month but I have money in my account to reduce my overdraft so ill do that next week.
  • Ps. Made another overpayment to the double glazing and it is finally looking a bit better.

Credit card payment made aswell, will make another payment during Jan.

Nice to hear you sounding so positive! Hears to a good 2010. Hope you have a lovely new year xx
    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%
  • Decided to pay a little bit more on the credit card while the money is in my account. Better I take £25 more off my credit card than spend £25 in the sales.
  • Jan 09 - Overdraft £3000 - Credit Card £300 - Loan £2500 - Double Glazing £3000

Jan 10 - Overdraft £450.00 - Credit Card £325.00 - Loan £2138 (roughly payment hasnt went for this month yet) - Double Glazing £2896.00

I also cleared my gas and electric arrears this year. I think this year I paid off about £3500 of debt.

By then end of Jan 10 I want to have my overdraft down to £250 and my credit card to £100. Then gone by Feb. I think I could pay off both if I worked really hard but I want to have a bit more of a life in 2010.

Im also ending 2009 with a positive balance in my current account, very happy about that :)

Thank you guys for your support and ideas throughout the last 6 months. Its been great to have people who understand why a dress for a nightout is so important to me and why a positive balance is such a milestone. Thanks again and I hope you all have a happy new year !
  • Also worked out if I make double payments to the double glazing for the next 4 years I can clear it very early ! Unless I can find 6k to pay the outstanding 3k and the other 3k of early repayments...
