mrbadexample not a lot I can contribute, but have to say PMSL at your comments on this thread! Worth more than the TV licence fee! Hilarious! Loved the bit on p1 where you put the soil in, read the instructions, needed sand etc.
I'm having my first go at growing my own this year. My lettuce (3 different sorts) appear to be doing really well! & Until those varmint caterpillars got to them, my sprouts weren't too bad. Have put my cabbages out recently, waiting patiently...
I shall return to read more of your exploits! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Did you know I can cook? :whistle:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Ok, since I disappear to France on Thursday, I thought it would be a good idea to add photos of everything that's growing (or not!) in the garden.
Then when I get back in a fortnight, we can see how [STRIKE]well my mate's looked after them[/STRIKE] things have grown in my absence.
Don't forget I started everything late.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
So, in the "vegetable plot" I have runner beans (Uncle Sid's):
swede (Invitation)
and beetroot (Globe 2)If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
In the tubs I have parsnips (Lancer):
Edit: Ok. Now that the parsnips have come up, I know that this must be a weed. Parsnips look like carrots.
Carrots (Autumn gold 2):
Cauliflower:
Onion (Red Beard):
Turnip (Golden Ball):
Turnip (Arcoat):
Beetroot (pronto)
and some French Breakfast radishes:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
In the greenhouse I have tomatoes (all Moneymaker, I think):
Chillis (unknown):
Sarracenia flava var. ornata (got a bit neglected over the winter, but new pitchers well on their way):
Some Pinguicula (butterworts). The big ones are P. gracilis x P. moctezumae, the smaller are P. yucca do 1713:
Good old Dionaea muscipula (spider form):
And a red form:
I've got a few assorted Drosera (sundews) in there too (which were shamefully neglected over the winter):

And in the rest of the garden I've got:
Rhubarb (Timperley Early), two gooseberry bushes (one Hinnomaki Red, one unknown green variety, both decimated by sawfly at the end of April  ):
There are a couple of sunflowers behind the rhubarb too, one red & one yellow. I'm told the squirrels will destroy them the moment they open.
And some other thingies:
That's pretty much the lot.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Wondered why I hadn't heard of you cooking for a while. It's taking you longer to get your ingredients ready.
