It's inspiring to read that you have had such a sucessfull clear out Bronnie! Your wardrobe sounds like it will work well together and you still have quite a bit of choice!
Yesterday afternoon I filled up a bin bag with stuff to go to charity and I still have lots more piles of clothes to go through. My aim it to fit all my clothes in one wardrobe and not having huge piles of clothes looking messy everywhere! I'm planning to get some of them plastic bags that you suck the air out of to put my winter clothes in and keep them at the bottom of the wardrobe. I'm going shopping tomorrow but I'm going to try not to buy too much new clothes - my main objection is to get storage stuff for the house!

White T shirt or white shirt, jeans and trainer. I have 2 daughters, 1 is very good with hair and makeup, the other keeps me right clothes wise. I just feel I need a style, or at least liven up my old one.
I dont like to feel too dressed up, comfort first, not keen on too many accessories (LOVE handbags). I wear a uniform for work, and spend a lot of time with my young grandchildren. I like going out for lunch, shopping, going round car boot sales, and have a small wardrobe of smart clothes for weddings etc. Its just general day wear I have a problem with. I might be a grandma, but I dont want to dress like my granny! [/QUOT
Hi
One of the things I've found helpful is people-watching,look out for women your age and shape who you think look good and make a mental note of their style tips. Also, look at celebs who's style you admire and consciously check out in magazines more directed at the over 30's.
I find it helpful to get a few basics in place first. Decide what would be a useful piece eg pair of smart dark denim, bootcut jeans. Decide what heel height you're going to wear . Do some research online.
Then take yourself on a shopping mission to find just that 1 perfect piece, nothing else that day. I have learned that it's unlikely I'm going to find certain items that will fit me well in the real cheapie shops or supermarkets, so don't depress myself by trying at this stage! You can trawl them later for bargains when you've got the basics in place! Next, Monsoon Wallis and M&S suit me for trousers and jeans as I need a long length so I try there first.
Build up in this way. Today I felt less flustered in the shops as I was on a mission and not floundering around pointlessly!
Bye for now!

Just to make you all feel better my mum, who is 72, wears (smart not high fashion if you get my drift) jeans and they look good - not mutton dressed as lamb stuff BTW - and she wears M&S jeans but still.

Hi!
Thanks for posting your list melgirl.
:TSounds like you're doing really well on the clear-out front and making money out of it too. Your stuff seems to good colour combos too. Have you got any gaps or need-to buys now you've sorted?

Thank you:D
I haven't come across anything else I need yet, I was out shopping today and really didn't see anything that would add anything to the standard stuff, so came home with nothing.
I was looking at my silver ballerinas today and I might replace as they are a bit scruffy looking, but they will only be replaced with another pair the same, because they go with my jeans, and most of the wrork trousers, the grey floaty skirt and the leggings, so definately a staple item!!VSP Challenge 2010 No 19 - £416.09 , 2011 No15 - £497.17, 2012 No9 - £146.52. 2013 No5 - £113.92SPC4 No1066 - £948.95,SPC5 No1066 - £659.49 (2 stone 13lbs)SPC6 No1066 - Pot 1 - 3.03b. If I can find a pair that fit. I seem to be a size 11 in a lot of shops i.e. size 10 won't fasten, size12 OK on hips but gaping round the waist (and don't get me started on trousers/skirts with a 'waistband' on the hips, not the waist)
I must admit to having been an impulse shopperSee it, like it, buy it, then wonder what I can wear it with and when.

Bronnie - you make some really good points especially about searching for one item at time
Melgirl - well done, I bet you fee much better
Crafty - 63 and a size "11", what is your secret? I agree with Bronnie about looking through magazine etc to get a feel for what look you are trying to achieve. No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30
