As we live in a one bed flat, me and OH go through all our stuff every 6 months. Anything tatty gets thrown but anything decent, goes to a charity shop.
Saw this programme the other day, and some people were giving charity shops bags with dirty nappies in them and clothes and shoes that were disgusting and had holes in them! Awful.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -

Hi, have been lurking for a while, but been inspired by following this and the other clothes threads! Yes I need to have a clear out, and would love to have a capsule wardrobe. I am 50 and feeling very frumpy, feel too old for dp, top shop, next, like m&s but find lots of stuff in m&s too mumsy. I like per una clothes, but can be pricey (although good quality) and more for going out and special occasions. I find it hard to find "ordinary clothes", just things to wear at home and for going out and about.
I plan to go through all my clothes and have a good clear out, and get rid of absolutely everything that doesnt fit, or that doesnt make me feel good. I will let you know if I have anything left to wear!!0 -
katieclampet - Firstly well done on the clearout! Although some of the looks in TS might be a bit extreme at the moment even for me at 31, I think that Next and Dorothy Perkins are perfect for you. What is your overall image? Do you wear jeans? No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30

I'm in. My wardrobe is bursting with clothes yet I struggle to find something to wear every morning. I have chucked a couple of things away over the last few days but that's not nearly enough!OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

Bronnie, i love the flamingo top, and the rest of your wardrobe sound fab!!!!! How liberating is it to know you've got a wardrobe that works, i think it really boosts your confidence, i also think you don't panick buy as much either. You can walk in to shops with a smug feeling that actually you don't need anything, BUT if you see something that you think will work, you can buy it, no guilt at all.

Thanks for kind words and support. Yes I still wear jeans, funnily enough I just said to my daughter recently I am still wearing what I used to wear when I was 15! White T shirt or white shirt, jeans and trainer. I have 2 daughters, 1 is very good with hair and makeup, the other keeps me right clothes wise. I just feel I need a style, or at least liven up my old one.
I dont like to feel too dressed up, comfort first, not keen on too many accessories (LOVE handbags). I wear a uniform for work, and spend a lot of time with my young grandchildren. I like going out for lunch, shopping, going round car boot sales, and have a small wardrobe of smart clothes for weddings etc. Its just general day wear I have a problem with. I might be a grandma, but I dont want to dress like my granny!0
