Still he's crap though aint he
While Ronaldo was a contributing factor with his selfish shooting and trying to do it on his own, I think the major factor for United's poor show in the final was the loss of Fletcher, who provides the position in midfield to protect the defence, break up play and then allow the others to play football.
when Barca scored against the run of play, it allowed them to keep the ball and United did not have that influence in centre midfield required to gain control of the ball.
Undoubtedly he is the best domestic manager ever.
However if you think his record in Europe is his greatest acheivement then you are either brainwashed by Sky or deluding yourself.
His record in Europe is no where near as good as Bob Paisley's or Brian Clough's.
In fact, Joe Fagan won the European Cup in 84 with Liverpool and was runner up the next year and only managed them for 2 years.
Would you like me to pick half a dozen other European managers in the last 25 years whose record is also better ?
Of course if you believe that football only started in the Sky era and that English football is the bestest in the world, then yes Sir Alex is the greatest manager ever.US housing: it's not a bubble

To add to that Liverpool and Chelsea's recent record in Europe is better than man U (Chelsea and liverpool are closer to Barcalona than man u is closer to them:)

Their premiership dominance is definatly not shown in europe, personaly I think they have under achived in europe.0 -
I was looking to see George Elokobi thunder through the back of the little git in the first 5 mins of our game against them!
I remember in 2003 our fans singing "you're not the real ronaldo" at him at old trafford. He didn't like it.
To quote C Montgomery Burns, there is no I in team.
In ronaldo's world, there is nothing except ronaldo.
I think MUFC may be better without him AS A TEAM.
Will they now buy Tevez? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Thank god I havent got to watch him on TV anymore...Not Again0

Looking at Sir alex Fergusons achievements abroad: -

And thats just what I can remember off the top of my head and not considering his domestic achievements (the post would be too long if I did;))from http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2006/nov/03/sport.comment1
