LONDON, June 11 - Manchester United said on Thursday they have received a world record 80 million pound ($131.2 million) bid for forward Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

"At Cristiano's request - who has again expressed his desire to leave - and after discussion with the player's representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player," a statement on the United website said.

"Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June. The club will not comment until further notice."

    Although a fantastic player, he is very selfish and greedy and that cost Man U the champions league - He was too busy trying to out-perform Messi then playing for United.

    Beckman certainly fits that category but he was seemingly bought as much for commercial reasons than football ones.Ronaldo is only 24.

    Still, If I was them, I'd buy some defenders as well.

    United were inferior in every respect against Barca.
    Smacks of sour grapes to blame Ronaldo.

    I'd look to the manager, who is not as good in Europe as he thinks he is.
