Ordered new sorbathingies. Hopefully be here by the end of the week. And how come "sorbathingies" gets past the spell checker!? Is that really what they're called?

They've been called that so often on here, the Spell checker thinks it's a real word :rotfl:Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
And £100 for a pair of running shoes? Hope they're good, idio  I can totally see myself being "done" in the same way, though!
Yeah, they're really nice actually.
I know it wasn't very MSE, but the guys in the store gave me a lot of help etc, so I'd have felt bad going out and getting them cheaper elsewhere - need to do your bit to encourage decent small shops, innit.
Anyway, to completely contradict myself, now I've found the shoes I like I'll just buy online next time I need a pair...

In stark contrast, Nike Town is very well presented and laid out, but I feel like I'm spending money just walking around there :rotfl:
:rotfl:.... I dont like the shop to much but the design your own trainer game is the nutts

Fair enough, I can see that point. I do the same actually. If I get loads of advice from someone in a shop, I'll buy the item there. If everyone went off to find it online or somewhere else, those shops and the service they provide (advice as much as anything) will be lost.
But hey, they've had their commission for helping you out, so you shouldn't feel too bad getting your next pair somewhere else!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Or just go in "lilly-sports-direct" walk around with about 8 pairs trying one on each foot at the same time.. anoy the shop workers coz they dont have a clue where to put them all back... then go home and order online the winners of the best fitting trainer for day... shame im banned from new trainers till day after Bristol

Afternoon all, no run for me yesterday as went to a kids birthday party (with my kids obviously) today I had a hill session and managed 6 reps, was p**sing it down but I thought it was lovely. Back home to do so pressups and situps , then my next task after my bath will be to tidy up the bomb site that is my dd's bedroom. I think I'd rather go running again!0

You pair of snobs
I do tend to agree though. There seems to be a particular group of people who treat sports shops as fashion houses. Decked out head to toe in Adidas 3-stripe but wouldn't be able to run for a bus.
I was in Sports Direct on Oxford street and got a lot of bargains for running and football*, but the shopping experience is frankly a baffling ordeal. In stark contrast, Nike Town is very well presented and laid out, but I feel like I'm spending money just walking around there :rotfl:

* They're closing down. Take note, London based DFWs
Anyway lilywhites is funny for those guys cause I dont think it has a lift and they have 6 flights of stairs to get up - cue much out of breathness from said group of people
