    Oh booger :(

Okay no worries will settle for four times round being 1.25 and work back the times from there :D

See you tomorrow with some good intervals (i.e. complete but not fast) to report hopefully :D

Its nice to see some of the guys we see in the regular road races getting international vests!

Ben Fish, who won the Freckleton 1/2 marathon last week, and Matthew Pierson, who came 2nd in the Greenway 10K a couple of weeks earlier, have been awarded England vests for a 3-way marathon match between England/Mexico/Canada as part of the Toronto marathon.

    Good for them!:D

Hello everyone! I don't come on this thread much but I have had great advice before, so hoping someone can offer some opinions on a running worry...

I've entered a 10k race on 8 july - yup it's not much more than a week away - and I've not been training regularly. I last ran over a week ago - did 5k - a week before that I did a slow 10k jog. Is it reasonable to get into shape for a race in just 9 days? Should I try to go out every other day between now and the race? How can I get into the best condition for the race? NB I am not going for a fast time, just a respectable one.

Also... the race is at 7.30 pm, by which time I will have done a whole day's work plus commuting, etc. How can I make sure I have the energy to run 10k at a time of day when I'm usually shattered?

Thanks for any advice anyone can give!

evening all, not posted much recently had alot on, but johns just convinced me to run a 5k in wythenshaw on sunday, im quite excited but nervous to, dont want to come last, and also for some strnage reason even though im only doing 5k at the gym i always get a funny stomach when ive covoured that distance.
Went to the gym tonnight and did 5k in 36m 15s, was unsure wether to do the race before i went but told myself if i did it in less than 40 minutes id run, so now im going, may end up doing some walking but it all gets me fit, and 3 and a half stone ago i couldnt run the length of 3 houses so although my time is slow its good for me lol
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

    Morning All!

Had a disaster interval session but not for the usual reasons - was all in all pretty funny :p

Got up at 6am - no garden key - flat mate played tennis last night and it was obviously still in his shorts but as hes still sleeping dont want to wake him...so go back to bed for an hour and think 'no worries I'll do a fartlek session'...

Get up at 7am and think no 'dont wuss out on first interval session' so measure birdcage walk on map my run and it comes out at 0.39 - great I think 400m so off I head - run a mile there nice and slowly and do three sides up and back and am on 10:11 already...hmmm need to another but feel cheesed off so stop, do a second set of three and come out at 10:05 - getting more cheesed off now so do a final set of two and some of the rest of the way into work which comes out at 9 minutes...

Getting confused so just remeasured and of course its 0.39 of a mile so 3 times is 0.39 is 1.20 miles!! Arghhhhh so anyway I have 2 sets at 1.20 mile at 10 minutesish and 1 set that guess what came out as a mile in 9 minutes - really need to remeasure my garden today and remember to ask for the key next monday night :p

HAHAHA classic miles and km mix up - only I could make it as hard as possible for myself!!!
