Although it is also useful to see how well you are progressing - an increase is good - say you run two races over different distances in the same birth year and want to know roughly how your time compares i.e. whether you are better at once distance or another then WAVA can help here too.

I know my 10mile is good, but y 10k needs improvement from these for example :D

Good point - useful for comparison between distances is indeed another good use.

Although it can also point to one world record being a bit softer than another - but generally it would be a good guide.:D

Tee hee was you a little bit wrong ;)

(and I agree about the WRs - I never care to look at them because they are frightening atm but I suspect some of them are softer than others especially for the women's - dont know why I suspect that though...)

    Nope!;)

The purpose of WAVA ratings is to compare against others - nothing else!

There are better ways of seeing which of your own distances are out of line with each other.

It is illogical to have a scenario where you think all your times across varying distances are all in line with each other ..... and then suddenly one is knocked out of line because some other runner somewhere smashes a world record.

I am happy (er)....after my rubbish run on Sunday when i had to walk the last 3 to 4k I have been wiped all week. Bottled joining a running club tonight and had to be forced out of the door, but just done a little 5k and feel like I've got my mojo back...:T

NE2 4AU is the nearest you'll get as the start is in the middle of a dual carriageway...and roads dont have postcodes.;)

    Well, that was pretty good!!:D

There was a great time on tonight if it had been appropriate to unleash it, but of course the main aim this week is to keep it all in check ready for the weekend.

In essence, this week has become a dry run for the taper for Fleetwood in 12 week's time.....and so far it is certainly working better than the messed up taper for Blackpool, so couldn't be happier!!:D:D:D

  • Oooh, there's so much going on I can't keep up!!

Firstly, welcome back Hypno (and sammy's mojo) - it's nice to see you :hello:

Pleased to see that you got out for a run Becky; I bet that felt good didn't it?? :D

It sounds as though you enjoyed your run Rich and that your training is going to schedule. It makes me laugh to think that 6:59/mile is you keeping it in check :rotfl::rotfl:

It was an early hilly run for me this morning - I was feeling a bit below par yesterday (sore throat/headache) so decided the aim for today was just to get round. Took it really slow and just concentrated on getting up the hills.

4 miles - 00:40:21 (10:04/mile) - the fastest time I've done for that route. How did that happen?
