Do people actually run without a supply of bog roll?:p
And the numbers for Fleetwood mean that you were the 53rd entry in the half and I was the 58th entry in the full marathon.......no getting lost in the crowds in this one.:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Hi everyone. Took over an hour to skim read the posts since Sunday evening. Don't you people ever take a break from here :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway, on catching up I'm beginning to think my meagre marathon and the odd club run for the rest of the year seems a little shoddy when compared to others racing almost weeklyThen again, I tend to slow down on the running during winter as I'd much rather be wrapped up on the sofa eating lots of food
, but I'll force myself to club run on Sundays and do one or two cross-country runs, as I've only managed to do one in the almost 4 years of membership.
After my long Sunday run my legs were still complaining up to yesterday's speed session with the club, so the planned 7 x 800 with 200 recovery dropped to 4, and I just about managed it too. Remind me never to run 8 miles the day before a long run please, these 40+ year old legs don't like it :rotfl:
Rest day today and a 5 mile tempo run on Thursday. I was going to do that tomorrow evening but as I'm meeting a friend after work today for a few drinks, I'll leave the bike behind and run to work in the morning :j Unlike last Wednesday, it really will be a few drinks. Can't handle a whole bottle of wine and stay upright, without lots of food
Does running make you less tolerant to alchohol?
Anyhoo, back to the salt mines and I'll catch you all later :hello:The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Hey Poor
sorry about your interval session but at least you were able to get something out of it!
Had a lovely flowing 7.1 miles tonight in 1:14:26 or 10:30 mins/mile roughly - could have pushed on a lot harder than that but really wanted to keep it reigned in and sensible0 -

Hehehehe, she did answer me but it's nice to get seasoned experience from a few different people. I think the Sat before I might mosey on down to the Expo. I was intending to have some porridge around 6am the morning of the race but I'll see if my nerves will allow that to happen!
My legs are were still achey and sore yesterday but feel a bit better today so I'm aiming to do 1 lap of Sundays route i.e, 6 miles and then will do something at the gym on Thurs or Fri and then another long run on Sat.
humph, my advice not good enough eh?
And where's my jar of plum jam Mrs?
Brought some down for Ma I see
*goes off in a huff*
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Good luck on you run tomorrow Uk - hope the shoes are comfy0
