Nice try but no fffing chance my boy - I'm targeting that for a pb now - no where near 1:37 but it'll be my 'I'm back in game pb' I hope :D

(that would be something like 1:45-1:50 :p)

Training run pace.... which I think would roll me in at about 3.40 - 3.50 somewhere around that time anyway.

Still on gettting round mind set for the full :D.

  • Great Scottish Run Half marathon : 1.35.48:D

Very happy and well paced amazingly since I haven't ran one in 3 years. 7.00 to 7.29m/mile with the slow one on a bit of an incline. 763 out of 7700.

Felt good until last mile when my upper body decided enough was enough and i cramped in my back, stomach and sides all at the same time:rolleyes: Didn't realise that was possible haha. Managed to hang on at same pace to the end....just but no sprint finish. The amount of people was amazing, the weather lovely to run in (drizzle) and the scenery..well...Glasgow suburbs.

Next plan: to up mileage without getting injured and do Leicester HM in mid october in 1.34, well see!

    Hi all

Running getting back on track after tight calves issue but would like to ask your thoughts...

GNR on 20th, psychologically feel I would like to have a longer run under my belt before then, I could get out and try a gentle 10+ miles on Sun, then taper off before race following Sun. Is this sensible?

    TIA

Well done on the Gingerscot - a fantastic time since you were so unsure how you'd do :D:D

Uk - I think you will do a shade better than that on the day if its good conditions :D

Smetf - I can hardly talk as I am doing a half race this weekend but I think 10 miles would be fine as long as you take it nice slowly :D
