Don't say that too loud, you'll have people wanting to crash on your floor!
I was just looking into whether any hotels were available (lol) - £200 a night, no thanks! Early morning drive from the NW for me I think....
Did my 10.2 miles today in 1.36, in quite warm conditions as well - hopefully do 12 next weekend and push up to 13.5 for the following weekends...
Probs just do some shorter runs during the week and get my speed up - I'd had a few weeks of not running over the summer but it's surprising how it comes back to you so quickly :j
I was debating driving up to Durham / Darlington area for about 8am, then jumping on the train as its £7.10 return from Durham to Newcastle & free parking in town. Takes 16mins on the train so ideal for us as were coming up the A1. We've managed to bag us a hotel room for £40 for a double on the saturday night. So might end up going out, having a few stellas, a late night then up again for the 1/2 marathon.
Best not turn up 20mins late for this one though.0 -

OMG I could not even think about drinking the night before! In fact I'll be off the booze all weekend. Running is hard enough without the hangover!! I'm debating bus or Metro. Bus stop outside house but it takes ages; or Metro but station is half a mile walk awayGood wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0 -

Good morning Chaps and Chapettes - this is a ME, ME, ME post I'm afraid.
My run this morning was AWESOME :j:j I can't believe that I, (ME!!!) was able to run 18 miles (or for over 3hrs 23 mins) comfortably when only in February this year I was struggling to run 4 miles outside:D
I was feeling a bit despondent after having to walk (a small) part of last weeks half mara but am now back on track and raring to go. Amazing2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Hi all
Sounds like a good run Simplycynical!
Am fairly pleased with myself this morning, 7 mile run, furthest ever run and felt really good when I stopped to give myself a good mile warm down walk. Took me a while ( 1hr 33 mins) but I did start very slowly to make sure I could do it!
This weeks total runs add up to 16 miles so am feeling quite positive.
Pleased I got out earlyish looks like it is going to be a hot one here in Yorkshire.

Whoops, we thought this was a flat race (or at least I did!:o).
Far from it, the first 0.5K was steeply uphill and then the full km between 2-3km was also up the same hill. So a very testing course, but strangely very enjoyable for everyone it would seem.
The highlights for me were the complete uphill km in 4:00 exactly and a last mile, which was sharply downhill, in 5:22.
Certain laws of physics refused to apply to Becky's run as she actaully ran faster than yesterday's flat parkrun - 26:19 today compared to 26:32 yesterday.
It was also great to meet poorbabe who looked very cool coming home in something around 25:45. I'm sure she'll post later with a more accurate time.
Great runs from Simply and Smetf, hitting new longest distances and UK on the 16 miler....the marathon preparations seeming to be coming together well.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
