I have a route that has circuits in it which I can do multiple times and it feels great to complete one more circuit than last time

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Good parkrunning once again Becky and Rich.

Evab - hope you get a chance to relax (sleep?) and also get a run in tomorrow instead.

Chickadee - nice dress - nowt wrong with trainers under that! ;)

I rather impressed myself by doing a long run this weekend after the latter half of the work week I've had and my stomach doing internal somersaults. And it was actually a good run  - which given that the four(ish) a couple of days ago was so so much hard work. 10.1 miles in 1:41:20 (10:01/pace). So the fastest pace I have ever done such a distance :j and bulding on my 9ish miles at 10:16 pace of the last long run. I'm happy with that and no after effects running or stomach related :D

Total for this week = 26.55 miles (slightly down on intended, but enforced).

'I'm back from my treadmill run and I did 6.5 miles so am feeling pretty pleased with that. Burned 1015 calories but Rob's ordered tea from Papa Johns so it'll be made up again! Lol!

I'll report back on the running club. Been told they are a friendly bunch. I emailed 3 clubs and only one got back to me!

And as for where I'm staying for the GNR - in my house! I live in Newcastle anyway so will get into town on the Metro or bus I expect
Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.

Don't say that too loud, you'll have people wanting to crash on your floor!
I was just looking into whether any hotels were available (lol) - £200 a night, no thanks! Early morning drive from the NW for me I think....

Did my 10.2 miles today in 1.36, in quite warm conditions as well - hopefully do 12 next weekend and push up to 13.5 for the following weekends...

Probs just do some shorter runs during the week and get my speed up - I'd had a few weeks of not running over the summer but it's surprising how it comes back to you so quickly :j

    Hello :wave::p

  • I think mentally running out & back is harder than round the a block a few times as round the block your never more than 5mins away from walking home.

It must be me but I hate laps and find I start thinking of reasons to stop :D There fore i look for really big loops or out and backs (when im in france it will be out and backs)

Any way I havent uploaded Fridays garmin results but I only did 2 miles of the 4 I was supposed to do as my left lower leg started hurting (like a bone ache?). So I stopped rather than risk doing an injury especially as this week is the first time I have run consecutivley(<no spell checker:rolleyes:) Friday being the fourth day and a new high milage week for me(19 miles).

    Have a good weekend.

My OH came back from Borders yesterday with a book called Go Faster Food. There's some really good recipes in it. He made us breakfast this morning - porridge with fresh blueberries, toasted chopped walnuts and honey! Nom nom nom it was bloomin lovely. I'm going to make my breakfast muffins shortly (wholemeal flour, apples, sultana's, carrots, coconut, and other yummy stuff) Although they don't last long with him around!
My hips are a bit achey after yesterdays 6.5 miles so having a rest day today, then I think a 5K on Monday so I'm not too worn out for the running club on Tuesday

Today could be a interesting days running. Never went out yesterday in the end was busy doing other things then a spot of CBA. Well ok i wanted to watch the football on the BBC.

To make up for it i'm going up one of my usual routes for 3-4 miles then back home being its a out and back but not stopping and carrying on down town. Probably be a 10-12 mile run depending on when i turn around for home and which way i go down town.

THen whilst down town the Whitehaven food festival is on (formerly the whitehaven maritime festival but that was axed due to cost) so there will be ample opportunity to refuel i think ;)

To top the day off the one and only flying Vulcan bomber is due in the afternoon at some point then i'll be running back home which is another 4 miles or so depending on which way i go and how i feel.
