    Indeed!!

And that is exactly what beginners are advised to endure by all these silly run/walk/run/walk programs!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:never thought of that - gosh that is cruel isnt it!!!
  • Another 6.65 miler this morning but in a slower time of 61.38 mins!!

Not really bothered about the time as its a change running at 05.30 in the morning??

At the 10k mark I hit approx 58.50 odds it was just below 59.00 mins so another 3 weeks to go until my first 10k race so hopefully get around 55 are so!!

But good to get another out this morning as the sun was shinning as Rich said "its a good way to end the day" the opposite "its a good way to start the day"
  • Also forgot to mention, some nice articles from Rich very interesting and informative stuff.

I really like the one on the fella who ran 150 + miles a week a very talented guy but its well for some who have the time to do this!!!

I find it hard to get out 3 times a week to do 6-7 miles, ha ha!!

As you get faster though - the time gets less so thats good :D

I do about 11 hours a week at the moment which when you think about it isnt that much - it justs takes a bit of planning!

Well done on the run though!!!

Yeah 150 miles is about 20 hours workload per week, which for someone towards the top of their game is not excessive at all.

You could even do that sort of mileage while working full time if you really had to, although you would probably need some flexibility in working arrangements.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'll hold you to that if I ever get up there!!

I think anymore than 100 is tough if you are doing 9-5 like I am because you need to sleep more, plus occassionally do other stuff, but maybe you could get into split sessions (before work, lunchtime and after) - I'll need to look at that at some point I guess

I did say 'if you really had to'.

Most of the fastest marathon runners in the past, and now, work as well as training - the perception that they are all full-time athletes is very wide of the mark.

Remember that Mike Gratton won the London Marathon while working full time as a school PE teacher. He made his own flexibility but was able to maintain workloads of 125-145 pw while also being physically active at work.

I think if I got good enough I would look at ways of going part time (money being a problem then of course)...more because I've always been a big sleeper and when I am in training I do sleep a lot more so getting up for afternoon work only would be a lot easier for me :D

Interesting one about relaxation, but oh dear, looks like I'm pent up, tensed up, stressed up and mentally weak!!! ha ha! sooooo much to take in.

Left ankle twanging very slightly today - doesn't hurt, but very strange feeling!
