  • Hi Cossie,

We can enable new connections - either from an existing BT phone socket in the house that has no provider associated to it (like you're describing) and we're also able to install a new master socket and do all the wiring.

Currently this is not an option when you go through the sign up pages, however we can take the order over the phone.

If you're interested in getting a call about this service, could you please drop an email to care @ madasafish.com and tell them your scenerio and ask for someone to call you?

    Thank you

    Kind regards,
    Samara

Although MAAF can provide your telephone connection and charge you for your line rental, you would be better getting your phone line provided by BT and paying them the line rental. This would enable you to use other telecoms operators for cheap calls and you can then go to any provider for your broadband provision. Read other discussions on this in the Home Phones board.

    Hi Samara

I have had an ongoing problem with my connection speeds fluctuating between 0.87 and 3.9. I've contacted the help desk 3 times about it and they are always very helpful. Last week they asked me to unscrew the phone socket and connect to the test socket and they would resync the line again. I've unscrewed the phone socket and cannot find a test socket. Any ideas what they meant

    Thank you

Not everyone has a test socket. If you have an NTE5 master socket, you can isolate any internal wiring and reveal the test socket by removing the lower half of the faceplate as shown below:

This would only be on the master socket, where the line first enters the property.

    In response to the query:

I'm afraid that the answer is no. Based on demand, in the future we are looking at offering more advanced hosting solutions.

  • Hi Samara

My connection has been activated:D , not yet set the PC up as its round a friends house. My old ISP provided a disc and therefore i had to click on the speedtouch icon on the desktop to connect. Do i uninstall this old software ? as my previous post i will be connecting via the ethernet cable you supply. How do i connect ? do i have a icon to click on.

    Thanks
  • Hi Anthony74,

Welcome to our services and thank you for choosing us!

Before you uninstall the old software, make sure that you've got the new hardware working properly. If you're connecting via the Ethernet cable you actually don't need to install any of the software that comes with the router. I'm assuming that you're using the Voyager 210. Here is a link to the instructions for setting it up for Ethernet.

You should be able to connect by just opening up any Internet friendly application (as long as you've got Madasafish set as your default connection). You don't need to 'dial in' (or prompt the hardware to connect) with the router, it will automatically connect for you.

If your Internet connection prompts you to connect, here is how to change this:

    1. Open Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu along the top
    2. Click on Internet Options on the Tools menu
    3. Click on the Connections tab along the top and select Never Dial A Connection then click on OK.

Please let me know if your email program is prompting you to connect - I can probably sort out instructions for that which will override that request.

    Kind regards,
    Samara
