Samara,
As an existing customer, I cannot help but notice that prices are dropping all of the time. Are Madasafish / Freenetname planning to rethink their pricing structures to compete with other ISPs ?
£18.00 for 5gb monthly usage is still good but it can be found cheaper.
But, as a Sky subscriber, the deal offered recently looks very interesting.
I am very pleased with the level of service received over the last year or so (Not including this weekend !!) and have no plans to move ISP at present.
If I recall correctly, that is the only major downtime I have ever had.0 -
Hi GaryS,
We're waiting on an announcement from BT wholesale before we make any changes to our pricing structure.
Once you're out of your 12 month contract, we're more than happy to renegotiate a new 12 month contract for cheaper subscription costs. I've still got your username details and I'll email you what we can do for you once your 12 month contract is up.
Kind regards,

Dear Madasafish,
We went on holiday Saturday 15th to Saturday 22nd... and on our return... our broadband won't work
We have tried rebooting, unplugging and replugging all cables, reading the help files but nothing works. The main problem seems to be that the internet light won't come on, even though everything is plugged in.
Can you please help as we can't do without our broadband now
Thank you

Hello EagerLearner,
Just want to make sure that you rebooted your router (unplug it and then plug it back in) - technical, I know!
If this doesn't resolve your problem please PM me your username and I'll get one of my team to help you out.
Kind regards,

I'm sorry to hear that you wish to leave us, however I can understand if you require unlimited usage and I'm happy to help you with the transition to a new ISP. If you PM me your username, I'll e-mail you back from our customer support email address and give you a break down of where you're at in your contract and help you get a MAC.
As a word of caution - a lot of providers that advertise themselves as 'unlimited' don't really provide unlimited services. Please have a read of this article by Guy Kewney titled The Free Fairy Story. I believe that AOL is one of the few providers that is offering a truly unlimited service these days.

Hi
I signed up a while ago and so far so good, 3 months in. I have recommended a mate and think he is about to sign up - is there any sort of referral system?
CheersAnd if, you know, your history...0 -
Hi Crabman,
I think that AOL know that the majority of online users do not exceed 2GB in a given month.
They probably use the low usage customers <2GB a month to subsidise the bandwidth costs of the high usage customers. I'm sure they've got people on their Platinum package paying £29.99 a month using 2GB.
It's not really a great business model because:
1. Constant downloading/uploading by a handful of users can affect the quality of service for others.
2. Because AOL have to pay BT for Bandwidth costs having unlimited customers who pummel the service becomes truly unprofitable. This is probably why they offer their £14.99 unlimited package at speeds of 1Mb. In a regard it's damage limitation.
A few months ago the unlimited providers to choose from were down to AOL, Ace and Zen. Since then Zen withdrew it's unlimited product entirely, Ace introduced a Fair Usage Policy and now it's only AOL that are left.
With AOL for sale, who is going to buy the business and will they keep the same unlimited business model that everyone else is abandoning? Only time will tell!
Kind regards,

Hello DixieDean,
There is indeed a referral program.
All Madasafish customers have a unique referral ID which you can get by logging into My Account from our homepage. The ID appears to the left of the screen.
If your friend uses your ID when they sign up to our services, you'll get £20 credited to your account and your friend will get £10 credited to theirs. It's a pretty good deal.
Kind regards,

Hi Samara,
When I joined MAAF broadband, I was promised 8MB, but after a little line testing I was told to expect 4MB. After moving from dialup, that was acceptable. I have run a few speed tests and they are usually around 1.7 to 1.8MB and I again hit the button to upgrade to 8MB. I was then told that my maximum speed would be around 3.5 MB but since the Internet blackout on Sunday, my speed dropped to 0.79MB and tonight it is showing 426kb which is simply taking liberties, I guess. I've emailed the support team, but they don't answer.
Surely an 8MB service delivering 426kb is seriously short changing me, wouldn't you agree?[ Eat, Drink and be Merry - for tomorrow we get the bill ]0 -
I continue to be impressed!!
I went to the madasafish fun pages and played their escape game and entered my details and a week or so later I got an email from Lionel saying I had been picked out of a hat and had won a prize YAY
I chose a MAAF t-shirt and it arrived today tied up with a MAAF ribbon with 2 MAAF balloons too
Happy Bunny0
