To be honest it was a bit much to expect them to do the same as the did in the last RO list. It seriously caught them by surprise and I don't blame them for limiting things this time round.

Legally, IF letZshop is a limited company, then they are obliged to make this fact clear on their website and post their company number and registered office address too. If they're a sole trader then they are obliged to show the name of the owner.

I'm kinda uncomfortable with this web-site springing up and offering a service which is unnecessary.

Funnily enough Benji put a suggestion forward to this thread that he thought was a good idea. People appreciated his motives were genuine, but rejected his proposal. He was disappointed, but respected his online friends' wishes.

Imagine the furore(sp) had someone suggested to Stumpy they take her lists off her- I would be offended. I think Stumpy is a bigger (sorry Stumpy) person than I, but its what Stumpy is isn't it (that and Garfield with flower).

Hi,

I'd just like to defend myself and say I have not stolen any links or content, I tried to create my own RO list, by taking the old argos catalogue and finding all the products that are no longer stocked in the new Argos catalogue.

So my list has about 3,000 products on it, but it could be that none of them are actually part of the RO list.

I also added a way of searching for details of new and old argos products for anybody's info, I did not mean to ruffle any feathers.

I don't think any feathers have been ruffled Daniel but you do SEEM to be here picking everyone's brains on what happens when and where. The Argos community here is a very friendly bunch but they will come together when an injustice appears to be done such as when Stumpy's lists were being auctioned on Ebay and when another MSE user posted her lists as if it was their work and even worse a new batch, so you can understand people's concerns.

You said yesterday you were here to answer anyone's questions but didn't answer the question about your website and then proceeded to ask a lot of questions yourself.

Anyway, enough said, don't want this thread to end up languishing in the Discussion Board

I must admin I don't agree with people trying to sell free lists on Ebay, or people passing other peoples work off as their own. I know I wouldn't like it.

The site I run is a pure affiliate site as an individual. I'm not a limited company or anything else. I asked a few questions as I want some cheap Argos products myself, for my own use - I'm especially interested in a cheap BT home phone with handsfree facility.

LOL, so this takes us into even muddier waters as your signature of the Arogs links takes users to your site which is an affilate site meaning presumably that if people click on links through it you would get something per click? In which case your signature is against MSE site rules. Sorry to be pedantic and I don't really mean to have a go but it does state on every page in MSE that you must not post for personal gain.

It looks to me that letzshop is asking for info on here just so that he can use it to keep his site updated.

For all he may want cheap items for himself, it really looks as though that is not the main reason for asking. I apologise in advance if I've offended you letzshop, but your posts do seem to suggest you are just gathering information rather than anything else.

As mentioned previously, Stumpy has been kind enough to supply and maintain the detailed list of Argos stuff that keeps us all informed. I was a little surprised when letzshop appeared with mention of his site. I did wonder who was going to benefit more.

I appreciate you seem to have done some work on this, but it's all pretty useless if the info is not accurate. It does seem that you are here picking up all the correct info from MSE just so you can then use it on your site?

I'm not big on the whole affiliate thing, but I'm assuming you benefit in some way from having this site? Just wonder why it seems ok to glean info from here...use it on your site....and then you benefit?

If that's the case, you must be able to understand why people on here are questioning you?
