I'd love some power, I'd be in my element censoring all the bulls comments. Imagine being able to delete all the positive news..... fantastic.:D
I preempted your suggestion with the term 'reasonable posters'.
I do have suggestions in mind (not me or socks), however, I will avoid posting their IDs so as not to embarrass them.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.

I remember, vaguley, this being raised before by us as a potential solution and MSE/Martin? didn't like it. At the time I rmemeber NDG had been proposed, I can't remember who else.
I thought at the time it was a good idea, we had a larger pool of regulars then: a larger pool of middle ground regulars anyway.0 -
Unfortunately, when I tried to join in, my points get lost in the inevitable following discussion of how I represent MSE and thus, I should be whiter than white (quite hard when I'm naturally a yellow skinned, brown eyed Chinese).
As I have felt this more than a few times I have tried to join in a thread (and also some quarters feel the need to have a dig at a board guide), I have now, regrettably decided no longer to post and just move, merge or delete when necessary.
I know it's easier said than done, but don't let a few boneheads stop you posting. You have as much right to post here as anyone else. You're clearly valued and respected or you wouldn't have been asked to become a BG.0 -

I second that. You won't please all of the people all of the time, but who does?0 -
If you ask for a primary email address e.g. O2 or BT instead of Yahoo or Hotmail, would that not sort it?
i dont think it would sort it out. why would anyone opt for a BT email address etc that address would stop working if you moved to another provider. many internet users can access internet for free at libraries and private coffeeshops and macdonalds etc. the IP address issue could easily be circumvented if using those places but banning those IP addresses will decrease access for free internet users at these places.bubblesmoney :hello:0 -

Not read the rest of the thread so forgive me if this has already been covered.
Misskool, I for one have appreciated your input into this board, you have joined in, got discussion going etc and it is a real shame that you have now felt forced into not posting in this board anymore.
I'll probably post more once I have read the rest of the thread! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I actually still use my BT email addy even though I moved over to Virgin about 3 years ago now.
It was much easier than changing business cards, compliment slips and web sites...just spoke to them and hey presto, still have it.We made it! Thanks for all the suggestions folks. On the technical solutions, without going into detail, we use all the tricks available to us - but detemined techphile posters will always an do fin ways to circumnavigate.
As for user editing - That does get a bit more difficult, but we're thinking of systems to allow it to help.

Martin, if you mean you may prevent us from editing our posts, would you consider only doing this for certain people, eg troublemakers who have been warned/flagged up by BGs for example? Most of us use the edit sensibly and I was glad to be able to delete a post I made in error yesterday. If this isn't what you meant, ignore me.
PS, to those who suggest that a new requirement of having a non-web-based email address be looked into...not everyone can get one so that would exclude users who don't deserve to be, eg those who use library, university or work computers only, etc.0
