exactly - the issues that the board has is common across the forum.
what are the real reasons for wanting to move the board and stop it being able to be viewed by the public.
Overly political? BNP sympathiser threads? Not too much relevant (to the purpose of MSE) debate?
It's not personal to anyone...but MSE may be a bit like owning a department store and one has lots of diff sections/Depts but they all tie in with one main point/aim.
It's only an anology and not meant to be directed at anyone nor this particular board but we used to always have a sale/clearance section until the staff complained about it.
It was reasonably popular but attracted a type of custonmer that put off the full price customer....it was a bit untidy and didn't fit in with the whole ethos of our store.
We deleted it and we sold more full price goods as a result.
As an owner of anything open to the public, one has to identify, at some point, what you want to promote/concentrate on more.
You can't be all things to all people after a time.
If this board attracts rascist/xenophobic type posts plus the ranting political ones, then perhaps it's no longer appropriate to be associated with a money saving site that is promoted in the popular press and on telly?0 -

i agree with you, i just wanted someone to say it clearly
why can't Martin say this instead of trying to blame it on arguments or bickering?0 -
But the forum owner isn't...so a compromise seems a good bet?
I prefer to believe MSE Martin is well intentioned, happy to listen to reasoning and hasn't already reached a conclusion to move this board.
Keep up the sensible posts, avoid saying bad things about the board and try to maintain unity. Especially on this thread.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.

I do recall dealing with compaints about where our reduced section had gone to and certainly never told any customer having a pop it was because they clogged up our changing rooms dithering over which 70% off (zero margin) clearance bargain they were going to select whilst a full price (full margin) customer was getting fed up of waiting to try something on and get some service.
However, it isn't my place to assume anything really...only a new poster could come across this board (after reading glowing press about MSE), see some of 'The Specials' and think !!!!!!?, never to return again.0 -
Posts complaining about the board will do very little in encouraging it to stay here.
Many a reasoned debate goes on here, please try to stick to the positives.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.
