Afternoon, :hello:
Jayward, so sorry to hear about your news. Have a look on the Debt Free Wannabe board, there are a lot of people in the same situation and there is some good advise about approaching mortgage companies as well as any dealing with any cards or loans that you may have.
Not been home from work long and I'm off out to my other job in a bit, Mondays grrrrrr.
I've just removed a dead mouse from behind the bed, darling cat, how we love you
I've got some steak pie and jacket spuds in the freezer, so I think that's tea sorted.
I bought a sad looking tray of the living lettuce stuff on Saturday, with a good drink, it has perked up, but what's the best way to cut it to keep it growing?

Jayward - so sorry to hear about your DHs redundancy, hope he manages to find something quickly x
Thankyou to those who PMd me re the Mirena, its much appreciated.
Am worried to bits about DS2 this afternoon. His college work had to be in today so he can progress to next year and he's really struggled. He had a crisis of confidence this morning and it broke my heart to see him so worried and low. I tried my best to boost his confidence and can only hope he manages to get through today ok. He has always struggled to get things down on paper and get organised but he's got it all up in his head.
Lets hope he can pull it off.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Afternoon all. Hope this finds you all well.
Thanks for all the kind comments. They mean a lot.:A
I am in a pretty foul mood this afternoon. Got a stinking cold on top of hay fever which is pretty bad this year(mind you the last two years have been on so am ahead of the game)
My laptop is poorly:eek::eek::eek: Turned it on today and it was showing as charging up which I was confused about as I hadn't used it as wireless at all yesterday. Had look at the status and is showing as empty(normally it closes itself down at 12%)and not charging:eek::(_pale__pale__pale__pale_:(:( no idea what is wrong. Of course its just out of guarantee(S/P?) Didn't get the insurance as they wanted £199:eek:- Whole lappy only cost £350.
(just deleted more laptop related moaning-will spare you the misery)
RaveyLesley How lovely and what a specal time for you all. I made my confirmation in the "old way" as a teenager but ,since they changed it have taught in a Catholic school and was very involved in my parishes Confirmation preparations and I adore the way it is now.
Jayward I am so very sorry for your bad news.
HUGS to all.
Haven't read everything yet but will(lappy permitting)later.
Tea tonight is a great surprise-you know as much as I do at the moment! Something simple and very quick. Might roast some tomatoes and have them with pasta and pesto.
OS wise today very little. Fed my tomato plants and cleaned the bathrom:o. By the way(another moan-sorry!) Was in Tesco on saturday and they have started charging for fresh yeast. I know its only a small thing but i felt it showed a meanness of spirit as they were hardly innundted with requests for yeast.
Anyway, have moaned enough for now- sorry(and you were glad to see me back why?:rotfl:) so will go and see what I can do to this bl00dy machine.
Have a nice afternoon and take care, Ann. xxBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Taplady - I just wanted to post to offer my support re your DS. I know just how worrying it can be when they melt down over work. All you can do is offer support and love. I hope it all works out for him.
I've not been posting for a while because my dad has been very ill after an op for several weeks. Thankfully it at last looks as if he is on the mend (the ward he was on let him develop 3 infections to the point where they had to call in the Critical Care Consultant to stabilise him) it was touch and go for a while.
As a result I've been trying to balance work and 200 mile journeys to see him and support mum - I'm shattered. So not much oS going on at all at the moment.0 -
Hi thanks for the welcome !
Money saving Diva sorry to hear about your tooth -I had a similar thing last year and spashed out on a tin of Slimfast or( Complan) this is kind of a balanced meal and does keep hunger at bay - It's also good for anyone who is off their food I've given it to my girls as a milkshake when they've been a bit poorly, or when you're in danger of skipping a meal. Bought it on special offer! Just ignore the fact it's a diet product and use it as a food supplement.
best thing I took for toothache was Bach resue remedy I was very sceptical but it worked you can get it from Boots - it's a bit dear but then have used it for other things and it helped my young un get thro' her driving test.0 -
Jayward - sorry to hear your news about your OH being made redundant.
Tomthumb, welcome. I'm new here as well, and everyone is very friendly. Been reading the thread for well over a year before I finally took the plunge and joined up!0 -
Jayward...hugs....sorry to hear about your news, I'm sure you'll get loads of support throught this site from all of us.
Taplady...I'm sure your ds will have coped fairly well, with you as his mum to support him what more could he ask for? My DS1 is just about to take his last GCSE this week and what a nightmare its been to get him to even consider revising, goodness knows what results he'll gethe too finds it very hard to put anything down on paper, but ask him about something and he'll go into great detail about it!
Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0 -
Hi all, I have had a day off today and decided to go and get DH a pressie for his birthday coming up in a couple of weeks. Could find no inspiration at all. He would like a handheld GPS and ebay have some but I cannot log in, it seems to have forgotten my user name and password!
Jayward - I am very sorry to hear your news. When my son was made redundant earlier in the year I went on the government website about redundancy and found that to be very useful, I just Googled employment law - redundancy. At least this gave us the facts of how much he was entitled to by law. His company went Bankrupt so we had to claim his redundancy pay from the OR but he did get it through the post quite quickly. I obviously do not know your circumstances but you may get some idea from this site while you try to get through to CAB.
MSD - sorry you are in pain - I have never had toothache but I should imagine that it is bad because you cannot rest it like you could other pain, it is right inside your head!
Nothing OS done today but will do a Macaroni Cheese for tea as per my meal planner.
