Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Munday 8th June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Purple for UKIP? Morning everyone. Seems to be another night of shocks for Labour. I wonder when the PM will realise that we are not all that happy and that he is no better than a tin pot dictator holding on to power.

Thats politics out of the way. Busy weekend for me Worked 16 hrs yesterday, but got a good result. I also managed to buy a boat somewhere in there. So feeling good and a little wary at the same time as I spent some money...
I figured what's the point of an ISA at 2% when I can go and have fun and still get my money back on the bargain I bought.

Money saving? Forget it....spend spend spend now...... Seriously it will be a thrifty rest of the month. Car insurance deal to find etc.

Wet week ahead, it all looked so good too. No honey for the bees to make.

Have a nice one

Morning. It's sunny here so far so I've pegged all the washing that DS3 brought back from his weekend at PGL. 3 loads done so far so only the drying to do. He had a fabulous time and talked his head off before suddenly announcing that he was going to bed at 9pm :D

    Plans for today are
    • Put all dry clothes away
    • Dust & vac upstairs & downstairs
    • Mop downstairs floors
    • Flylady list
    • Make bottom of the fridge quiche, HM wedges & peas for tea
    • Use the sewing machine to repair a seam on a pair of DS3's shorts
I hope that everyone has a good day and (((hugs))) to anyone who needs one.

    Good morning:hello:

Am a little bit sleepy this morning after staying up to watch The Apprentice and the follow-on programme.
DD2 is back at school today after study leave, starting A level work now. Dinner already sorted - chicken salad with home grown salad leaves- for DD2, OH & I are out tonight. Had BM on twice yesterday so today is really sorted OS-wise, which is just as well as I have a busy day ahead.

Have just been reading about the RSPB wildlife garden survey for this week - we don't have alot in our garden but will try to find an hour to do that tomorrow.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning All

Go for it N9eav - we live near the water and most people round here have boats, if you like fishing as we all know you do then its a must. We are common and have a jet ski :rotfl:which is great for the kids and have a lot of fun on the water.

Well its sunny here at the moment. OH had some day work today so when the kids go to school I will have the house to myself. Office work this morning, pack up & post ebay items and then housework this afternoon. Might try and bake some fudge brownies as well.

Ironing all done, need to do one load of washing today so will aim to get that dried, ironed and put away as well.

    Have a great day.

    Morning peeps

Been ages since I posted on here. Family illnesses and deaths have featured loads in my life this year already. Sunny here atm but I can see grey clouds on the horizon...hmmm do I risk putting the washing out anyway and hope that DS1 remembers to get it in if the wet stuff appears to fall? Oh heck course I will.

Went looking for fridge freezer at the weekend and of course DH would HAVE to fall in love with the most expensive one he can find. I managed to find it on interenet tho for £20 cheaper including delivery and removal of old appliance from Boots of all places so I also will get loads of Boots points :j would've prefered Tesco points but they don't have it.

    Ok jobs for today....
Put washing out and load WM again.
    Go to work :(
Lunchtime clear living room and start tea off.
    back to work :(
Spend the evening sorting out my bedroom....loads of papers to file and stuff to ebay.

Right thats me done for now hugs to every1

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning
