Better still .. do a web search for 'Spybot'. Should find a page for 'Spybot - Search and destroy'. It's a freeware program that detects spyware and safely removes it from your PC.
I've used it many at time on my own PC, as well as extend family and recommend it to all my friends when ever they have issues and ask me about spyware.

There are others out there, but this is the one I know and use.

    Good luck.

  • meh hardly works for the deadly internet hijackers like lop.com

depends how serious the spyware is. Sometimes hijackthis + safe mode + registry is the only way ;)

Seriously, Spybot is your best option, or Ad-ware as another person mentioned. Basically, if these two can't do it, then you've got a bigger issue that only people who really understand their PC, will be able to sort out.

If all else fails, back up your data and do a complete reformat and install of your PC. Sounds like alot of trouble to go to, but sometimes it's worth it as you start with a fresh PC, more disc space as you've got rid of rubbish on there you don't need. Performance will go back to how it use to be before you had god knows what installed and running in the back ground. But this is a LAST RESORT though and should only be attempted if you know what you're doing.
