When I met OH, with him always having lived at home, all his undergarmentage had been bought by... his mum. There is something not so attractive about a man in pants bought by his mum  So I did the girlfriendly-thing and phased out those. I do like a man in Calvin Kleins (a la Mark Wahlberg) so he got those and some Hugo Boss - so what if they were bought off ebay and not necessarily the real deal LOL?!
Oh and white is best *goes off into daydream land...*
I've never known him buy his own or his own socks. He does buy accessories such as belts always from skate shops.Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Underwear is designer, usually. Calvin Klein, AussieBum, Ginch Gonch or Diesel. Designer ones tend to last better and keep their shape and colour when you wash them!
If not designer, then decent highstreet stores like French Connection, Banana Republic, Reiss or Ted Baker are always good. Abercrombie & Fitch also excellent, if rather expensive compared to America.
I keep it low-key on the accessories now, too much metalwork looks a bit outdated now in my opinion. A good belt is essential and mine come from French Connection, mainly. Gant sometimes have nice stuff, although it can be a bit 'come for drinks on my yacht' for me. I also have a couple of vintage belts that an American boyfriend once gave me... no idea where they came from but they're beautiful. Handmade in the States, I think.
I buy cufflinks when I buy the shirt so they tend to come from Thomas Pink or Paul Smith. Although I do have a diamond pair that were a special gift from another boyfriend.
I don't have much call to wear suits as I work in a creative environment, so we all wear jeans and t-shirts all day. However if I do need to wear one I've got a few hanging up, one from M&S and a couple of flashier ones from Ted Baker.
The mass market highstreet stores just don't appeal to me now that I'm over 30. Topman is a dayglo nu-rave hell and H&M contains so much synthetic fibre that you could start a fire if you brush past something in the wrong shoes. Everything I buy from River Island shrinks when I wash it and Next is for people with no imagination (sorry, Next fans).
Savvy_Sue, less of the 'real men' !!!!!! please. It's 2009! There's no less reason for a man to buy his own underwear than there is for a woman to book her own car in for a service."I'm not a one-trick pony. I'm not a ten-trick pony. My son(aged 18 now) buys his own undies, belts, hats etc online and has done for about the last 2 years.Ebay for socks and other undies,Asos or All Saints web sites for expensive undies, hats ,scarves and belts. When he gets them as pressies they are always high street,Burtons or m&s.
Ties are something he would not wear.
My OH(late 30,s now) has never ever bought his own anything. All these items are gifts from his mum and me and bought in M&S,Next or Burtons. He wouldnt buy himself a new pair of boxers if they were so thread bare you could see his ar*e through them.It has happened.
Just yesterday I took a pair of his black Next boxers out of the washing machine and instantly saw there was absolutely no crotch left in them,he hadn,t noticed!I had to sneak them into the bin as he still thought he could get more wear out of them! How?
My OH doesnt like spending money by the way,but honestly!"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
My OH gets his underwear (calvin Kleins) from Figleaves. I don;t knwo about socks as he hasn;t bought new ones since we've been together, same for ties but I think maybe M&S.
He doesn;t wear hats or any other accessories, and if he needed a belt we'd look in Debenhams and places that sell jeans like the Diesel shop. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

My OH (late 20's) wears Calvin Klein/Bjorn Borg underwear from Figleaves/House of Fraser. Accessories come from Diesel/All Saints/Urban Outfitters. He buys them himself in the sense he pays, but quite often I go and pick with him. Socks come from Next
Winter hats tend to come from H&M, as he'll wear them for one week of skiing then never again. Belts come from wherever a nice one is seen, I've bought him a couple of vintage ones from charity shops in the past. Before I was around, I'd presume he shopped for these things alone (or at least I really hope so, as I'd be a little horrified if his mum had bought his pants at 25!).

I usually buy for my DH and he prefers M&S undies, shirts and ties. Apart from the ties he doesn't do accessories. Good luck with the interview.Every day is a new life to a wise man.

Being married to a man who probably never has bought his own underwear and would be entirely comfortable with underpants in the same state as those of sheloves's OH, and having given birth to almost adult sons who will wear socks with their toes pointing through the holes, I stand by what I said originally, which is that women have to feel comfortable where men's underwear is on sale if the shop wants to maximise its sales! :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
having given birth to almost adult sons
That must have been uncomfortable.
Seriously though, regarding the 'gal friendly' underwear stores, I think that's a good observation. Having said that, maybe they do make the areas appealing to women by placing muscular young studs on all the boxes (I know that's what keeps me coming back)."I'm not a one-trick pony. I'm not a ten-trick pony. I'm a whole field of ponies - and they're all literally running towards this job."

I feel I must apologise to the OP for possibly taking us off topic, and hope the interview goes well next week. Do tell us how it goes. I'm presuming you're female (or you'd KNOW where men buy or don't buy their underwear!) but best of luck in discussing the merits of boxers over briefs with a bunch of complete strangers. :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0
