I get my crackers from Next. And normally my socks aswell.

Don't tend to ever buy 'accesories' but on the odd occasions for cuff links, belts etc then Next, M&S or Debenhams.

Edit: I actually need to get some new boxers as mine are full of holes and skiddy's. :)

M&S or Tesco, normally when I'm shopping for myself - I think many men have their underwear bought by the women in their life. On ebloke at work always asks for socks as a present, cos he grudges paying the money for them himself.

hth, good luck with the interview.

I need to find out where men (aged around 25-35+) buy their accessories (hats, belts, ties, scarves etc) and underwear/socks from.

I have bought accessories, underwear & socks from all the following, possibly (!) in order of frequency:
    • ebay
    • Primark
    • H&M
    • Debenhams
    • Next
    • Tesco
    • Asda
    • M&S

I haven't bought anything from Asos yet, but no doubt I will do soon!

    Normally though ...
    • Socks from the supermarkets.
    • Boxer-briefs/briefs from Primark or ebay (used to be supermarkets but not so keen on them any more!).
    • Accessories (belts, ties, bracelets, bags) I normally get from places like H&M (Wish they had an online shop!).

  • i do all the buying of that type of thing for my oh. tend to buy sports type socks for him as thats what he prefers, usually get them wherever is cheaper but quality is more important than cost. undies, ive got him to shop for them once and that was because the stuff he had when he met me (2years ago) was starting to get a bit holey, he wears a combination of loose boxers, shorts and pants depending on his mood, so i let him pick what he prefers.

accessories - a watch is his limit.

clothes in general - only wears fred perry type tshirts, and prefers combat trousers. for work gets plain black trousers from next or burtons and gets a couple of shirts from burtons. work stuff is ordered through work so its only casual stuff he has to buy.

    good luck with your interview.

Cool/Wanted brands for that segment are
    • Abercrombie and Fitch - dorm clothes/hoodies
    • Hollister its cheaper cousin
    • Jack Wills/is (can't remember at the moment) which is lots of casual
    • Ralph Lauren - the Polo is a staple
    • Paul Smith - The stripe on accessories finishes off most outfits
Its clearly a class/income/MSE:money: thing though... The Primarks/M&S stuff for those who aren't fussed. Abercrombie/Hollister/JWills for the younger uni/college crowd with a bit too much of mummys cash. Ralph Lauren/Paul Smith for those looking a bit older/more disposable income. After that it goes beyond my pockets with the usual suspects (Prada/Gucci/Hugo Boss etc).

Depends on the retail chain your looking at, if its working for Prada then I suggest you go onto the selfridges/harvey nicks websites and look at the floor guides, Selfridges has floors which are imaginatively described but boil down to
    • Young = Cheap
    • Trend = Less Cheap
    • Fashion = Expensive
It might also help to see what is standard/aspirational for each market segment, e.g. Littlewoods/Next catalogue had aspirational brands of Henleys/Firetrap.

Underwear can be bought from most of the above but Calvin Kleins seem pretty popular across most of the market. Socks for your market (assuming high earner store) would be fairly unexciting, argyle knits from TM Lewin or similar, its one of the few things which haven't been branded to the hilt.

This post is increasingly making me see how much I spend on clothes lol! :o

Hope this helps, and good luck

I am sure Real Men no more buy their own underwear than they eat quiche. And accessories? I don't think so. :rotfl:

    However.

What this means is that your hopefully-soon-to-be employer needs to make sure that the trading floor is welcoming to both men and women in a way that Ladies Lingerie will never be. Ladies Lingerie should retain a bit of mystery and elegance, men SHOULD feel a little out of their depth trying to buy for their beloveds.

Women, on the other hand, should be able to browse men's socks and underwear without fear of embarrassment.

BTW, packs of 7 are all very well, but you need an 8th pair for laundry day, otherwise you've got to go every 6 days (or commando, but let's not go there ... )

, my ex used to wear aussiebums, ;)

They are so gorgeous. I've sent the link to my sisters to buy for their sons who are in their twenties who will love them. Would seem a bit odd if I bought them as their auntie.:o

I buy OH undies. Pants usually M&S or Next.

He's fussy over his socks. He likes walking boot socks as he's a policeman and he doesn't want hot, sore, sweaty feet. They are usually at least £10 a pair so I look in sales and TKmax.

He also wears white technical t-shirts under his shirt in work. Last batch bought in Walmart, Florida. He bought all the ones they had in his size as they were just $6 and he pays £14 for one in this country.

Underwear usually from TkMaxx, Socks from M&S/TK.

Gloves, Hats, belts Scarves and bags usually from Dept stores.

Vintage accessories from ebay, antique fairs.

And one particular store in Manhattan, where I go mad and blow my baggage allowance.

Would never use Primark, Next or H&M.

I buy all my OH's underwear and socks. Usually in TK Maxx. Before his mother used to buy these things and she used to buy them at M&S. I still occasionaly buy socks at M&S if I am there, but TK Maxx is closer and easier to get to and they have good quality stuff for reasonable price.
I also buy ties or they are given as a gift. In matter of fact I buy nearly all my husbands clothes - the only exception being suits and shoes which he buys himself.
