$99 on a contract, which compares to free on a like for like contract.

and yeah, the iPhone 3g s is expensive, but it's got new features, and a oleophobic screen...

There are lots of employer discounts towards o2 contracts. My girlfriend could pass her o2 discount to family and friends. So I got a 30% discount for my tariff towards my iPhone. So still full price for my phone but save on my line rental!

Those prices are a joke. I cant believe they haven't kept the old 16gb, dropped the price and scrapped the 8gb.

No mention yet of UK pricing though, no doubt we'll get ripped off again. Quite fancy one of these but not keen on being held to ransom. Sooner o2 lose exclusivity and there's some competition the better I think

well aint that soon ;) 2 years exclusive ?

I'm not upgrading to the 3GS, it's not worth it. 3.0 will offer most of what I need and I'm not happy at the prices of the handset.

we do get MMS from the day of release, and we get tethering for an extra £15 ish a month if you want.

MMS is so outdated now, msn messenger is how its going...
Orange & Vodafone messenger's underlying is based on MSN

    £15 a month ? £5 on 3 payg sim gets internet tethering......

If Apple had like Blackberry a international roaming data bundle £23, combined with o2's 4 for 1 international texts then it would somewhere be worth a o2 contract IF the price of the restricted handset price dropped

I honestly can't remember where I read this, looked at so much in the past hour about the 3Gs, if you google it there's loads of info on the phone.
I'm in the same position as you with regard staying at O2, my contract can be renewed next week and wanted an iPhone, might wait another week for this.

I am def waiting for the 3gs but just trying to decide whether to go for an 18 month or 24 month contract. Might just bite the bullet and go for 24 month because don't think I will be able to justify another new phone next year, unless it was a free upgrade.

I was wondering whether this was fake because I cannot seem to access these pages from the o2 home page. Also the iphone page is still only showing the old models.
