the 3g was better in the UK than the US, however, now, the tables have turned, and the 3gs is more expensive than the US.
However, we do get MMS from the day of release, and we get tethering for an extra £15 ish a month if you want.
still awaiting the announcement on the prices for the PAYG versions of the 3gs0 -

There's also a new iPhone OS that should iron out any previous issues such as the ability to send mms.
Where have you read this, I called o2 tonight and they have no news of the new iphone 3gs. I told the girl that it launches on the 19th.
Have been trying to find out whether 02 retain their exclusivity, I am with 02 and would prefer to stay with them as since being with them I have been able to get a signal in places that I couldn't with vodafone and bt.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

I honestly can't remember where I read this, looked at so much in the past hour about the 3Gs, if you google it there's loads of info on the phone.
I'm in the same position as you with regard staying at O2, my contract can be renewed next week and wanted an iPhone, might wait another week for this.Trying to remain debt free!
