I second the opinion of the Samsung Omnia HD, its a fantastic looking and well featured phone. Will probably upgrade to it once the price drops on Orange. As mentioned above there are a whole host of smartphones out there so do plenty of reading if you are planning on getting an all-in-one device. Don't get roped into the iPhone hype, its a fun phone to have, but thats all it is, and the novelty will wear off and leave you wondering why it can't do even the basic things some other cheaper phones can do right now. The new iPhone may have addressed those problems, but we'll have to wait and see if it will be considered a serious business device for the corporate user.

I-plod is over rated, Apple have a tremendous goodwill of Americans that translates around the world with their Apple fixation - Big Aplle donate millions in Apple computers to US schools, that buys brand loyalty & the yanks think 3G was built round the I-Phone.........NO they were just too slow to start 3G

I-Phone is restrictive as hell, Windows & Symbian are open to developers Apple approve ALL applications.....so Apple is like your mother telling you what you can & cant do, I would never throw my hard earned cash at a company of such :)

My HTC Touch 3G is everything I-Phone is BUT is with out restriction included ;)

Programs, Microsoft supported VOIP, sync's with the majority of the worlds computers etc etc

My Apple Macbook is a ( hell of EXPENSIVE ) jukebox
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

No mention yet of UK pricing though, no doubt we'll get ripped off again. Quite fancy one of these but not keen on being held to ransom. Sooner o2 lose exclusivity and there's some competition the better I think

The 50% price cut on the old 3g is effective immediately in US-keep your eye on the o2 website to see if they follow suit! Overall disappointing upgrade I think!

We get a better deal that the US. The phone is cheaper than in the US which is unusual for apple. Plus the plans are better value than the US as well and O2 don't have as many restrictions as AT&T.

I doubt that we'll get a 50% cut on the 3g- if we do then a lot of people will buy the PAYG Iphone for 175 quid!

The new iPhone 3Gs has been announced today, released on 19th June. O2 are keeping their exclusivity and there will be a 16Gb and a 32Gb version for the same price as the current 8Gb and 16Gb. There are talks of selling the 3G cheeper than it currently is.
There's also a new iPhone OS that should iron out any previous issues such as the ability to send mms.
