hhmmm budgetting how does that go again?

Do people actually have seperate bank accounts where they put in clothes, holidays, xmas, etc? we do have one for the car so thats a start i suppose. Was thinking of getting one for the cat as have no insurance on her so we should save up for vet bills i suppose?

I do and wouldn't be able to survive without them, I have 2 current accounts, one pays the bills and the other is mine, i have a savings account for car tax/mot/servicing, one for christmas savings, one for general savings (yer right) and another one for car insurance/house insurance & car rescue. I just set up DD's to each of them every month, they are all online so i know i can pay for something with my debt card and get the money accross in a day or so which will be in time to cover the charge.

i would recommend doing so, specially if you can get a deal for doing it. If worst comes to the worst you can use the money but it makes things like Christmas achievable

Wow what a loverly time we had in Wells absolutly lovely place. Didnt spend toooo much ok £60 but we were out for meals every night!
Ok i get paid today so some sums
    Paid 1467.88 (includes some expenses)
so i've transfered £550 over to joint acc to pay for bills
£60 to boyf as borrowed money from him
    £169 for travel ticket
£15 to my mum to help her out
    £250 to reduce od
£82 to savings acc to pay off cc

Came back to a letter from HSBC to say that the whole of my od will be chargeable from now which im really annoyed about as they've changed the terms and conditions. So i have to pay this off asap. Now ive had this acc since i was 11 so after 21 yrs im leaving them esp as the acc is now 0% interest! Even when this happend last yr it didnt prompt me to move. Banks must love inertia!
So i opened a Halifax acc yest the one where they pay you £5 and my wage will go in there so it's adieu HSBC!

So now only paying £16.50/m even thou the woman was totally telling me that because of the credit crunch that staying in is the new going out and that i'd get totally bored! Have also cancelled my charity at £2.50/m as i couldn't be bothered sorting out a new DD for it with my new halifax acc (lazy & sluglike moi?)

HSBC obviously dont know what they're doing-rang yest to reduce my od and they said they had no record of this letter being sent to me and to go into my local branch with it grrrrrr.
Anyway this morning ive done two easy surveys on fanta & chocolate, scratchcards-10p only, quidco clicks and set up a dd for £10 to go to savings acc for our cat Tip Top and it's still only 5.48am!

yawn morning all-the title of this little diary must be putting you all off ha ha!

A few good bits on the money saving front-spent £9.05 in nettos on stuff that should last us til sat then i finally have 500 worth of nectar points so i'll get £2.50 (woo woo) of basics from siansburys & about 15quids worth of meat n veg from the market so the rest of the £50 spends can be chucked in the savings account.

Also found 3 compleated macdonalds coffee vouchers in the street the other day so anytime im tempted by nice things to eat at the stattion i can quaff them instead.

Beautiful morning here today just about to put washing out. Another cuppa first thou. (In my fab new thermo mug which OH got as a freebie from workas he was sick of me only drinking half cups and leaving them-so thats got to be money saving hasn't it?)
