Have a good visit Mooloo and Happy Birthday to your grandson xxx

    Thanks.
We were lucky we all managed to meet up and DGS1 was delighted with his presents. Alas we only had an hour with them. I got to feed the baby. He is nearly walking, holds onto your finger and away he is.!
I wish that they would have allowed our request to have more time, especially as the room was not being used after us.

I forgot to post my letters of complaints to the SS for my funding. So I must remember to do that tomorrow. If I can get the car out. I struggled to get the car out of the cul de sac when I was at my parents, and had to put a mat under the car wheels to get into my drive.

My car needs a new exhaust! The garage checked it out for me, and are going to ring me with a quote. Just what I need at the moment.

Twin1 is here and bathing DGD, and DS is trying to sort out why his Xbox is nt working.

Me I am tired as I have been out all day. I forgot to take my tablets with me and I am in much need of them now. My nerve endings feel like hot pins! So I am off. Catch up a bit later or tomorrow.

hi mooloo, when we needed a new exhaust, we managed to get a brand new one off ebay for a fraction of the price the garage quoted. So perhaps try there (not forgetting quidco or topcashback!) and then the garage only charges labour. May help save a few pounds xx

Morning, I made the decision to not drive the kids to the bus stop this morning. Its 8 miles away on a road that is not gritted. Local roads. My drive looks like a sheet of glass, and is a steep slope. I just do not feel I can take the risk. DS didnt mind. Twin1 was more concerned. I told her that i didnt think a bit of English was that important, and that she is not that well in the first place, I think she is daft. perhaps I will get her to do some english on here. I have a lot of Homeschool lessons on the laptop that I have been storing up for using with DGD later on. (She is quite clever and I thought that perhaps a few of the books etc will be good to read to her) Very MSE as all free downloads. Well most are, some I pay a few quid for but not much.

DGD is still asleep, so I am enjoying the peace, up in my bedroom, with the TV on low, with the laptop, and i have had my cup of tea.
TWin1 is watching the TV in the front room. Left her watching cartoons with a cup of tea, when I made the decisions not to drive.
DS went straight back to sleep.

I will ask my Dad to collect Twin1 to go back to Town later in the day, if the weather is not too inclemant, as he has a 4 x 4.
Maybe while the kids are here, I can use the time to do my sewing that I havent managed to do, a few bits for Christmas decorations, to side track me from the fear that I may not manage to move next week, if the weather is this bad, or worse, I see problems in getting the key, in getting the carpet man out, and then the removal lorry? No Moo dont start to think negatively. Some devine connections needed here!.

Never thought of that. Mind you I am not sure I can be bothered with the hassle this close to Christmas and the move. But then again I havent seen the quote yet!

  • Mooloo can you not use the time to start packing things you don't need everyday while you've got the kids there to help you either pack or take care of DGD?

Well I could but my dad has paid for a company to come in and pack, to save my health and the stress, and if I pack anything it will not be covered by the insurance. They will come in on the Thursday and pack us up, and then deliver to the new house on Friday. Then I will unpack in my own time. Realise not very MSE but after much discussion with my parents, it was decided that I should save my health this time, and be fit enough to have a good christmas. I was very ill over last christmas and missed it completely. :D:o

Although I shall have a go at a bit more decluttering of some of my cupboards and drawers. Or maybe even do a little bit of sewing of my decorations etc for the new house.

Have just given Mum the care of DGD for a little bit longer. And I will take as much of a back step as i can, and potter as my mum would say.
Its freezing in the extension part of the house, the kitchen and the bathroom. Not a place I want to be hanging around in at all. I will have to dig out some socks for my feet as the quary tiles are freezing cold and standing in the kitchen it seeps up the feet to the legs! brrrrr

The housing have just rung to tell me i cannot have the keys to the new house now for another week as transco will not fit a gas meter to the property until the 10th. Thats everything messed up now. Completely messed up. And another week lost to everything. Its costing me a fortune in changing over the phones etc etc

i am gutted and fed up

  • Could you make a claim for the costs from the housing (or Transco) or at least threaten to as they told you one date and you have made arrangements accordingly? Maybe this is one of them moments that 'those who shout loudest' get results?

I totally agree. Do not take this lying down. They must know how hard it will be to re arrange things at this time of year. You could still move in if you have a microwave and some kind of electric heaters.

I do think you need to get on to them and tell them how inconvinient this is, telling them how much it is costing you. All these expences add up and they need to realise this is peoples lives they are messing with!
