Mooloo my parents live in Lagos on the Algarve, its been cloudy but warm the past week about 22 degrees, which was welcome respite from the heatwave they had been having. However today the sun came back and its lovely, enjoy your well earned break :j

Oh how lovely.! I hope the sun is out at the end of the week, for a week!! I was looking to stay in Lagos originally, but BF was against going so far from the airport as we have a 5am flight back EEK! but we will go on a drive that way one of the days. We have a hired car.
I love it there, there is a little cafe near the fort bit, that I have sat and had a cold ddrink in before, and there was a mediveal market thing there one year I went. BF missed it as it was a day we had gone seperate ways with each of our kids, and I just came across it by chance.

I love Portugal. I would live there if I was able! My dream was to retire there, (when I was working, and had money of course!) now its just a dream to have a weeks holiday.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

The cafe is still there by the fort, I know the one you mean, I'm off there in 2 weeks time, can't wait!

Lagos has changed so much in the last year lots of developments being built, luckily my folks are on the outskirts in a local village. I went out for 2 nights and a day in august to pick my boys up and went to the medieval festival in Silves it was amazing!

My folks retired there, well mum did 4 yrs ago and dad finally fully retired this month. They love it and its so good for mums arthritis! Dad was taken ill last year but luckily all under control and on correct meds so only has to come back once every 6 mths for a check up.

If you are looking to visit any of the attractions with dgd you can usually get discount on tickets if you buy them from the supermarkets, also out there most attractions are free for children under5. Can highly reccomend the sand sculptures near Ghia or is it Guia (Albuferia) if you go late afternoon you can go around them again when it gets dark and you will be amazed at how different they look :)

I have seen the sand sculptures on Albufeira beach before, they were very good. We seemed to have missed the cmpetitions by the time we go normally.
I am going to Quateira this year.
Normally we are in Vilamoura, but tht was when I had my timeshare. I had to give that up as I could no longer afford it.
Didnt tend to go on the attractions, but thats becuase I was usually on my own, and stayed close to the marina, just watching the world go bye.! Although when I was younger and fitter, 25 years ago, I would explore all over. Think that its time I did more exploring now that everywhere is changing so much. If BF is in the mood. If we get Sun he wont stray from the beach/pool very far.
With any luck DGD will enjoy the sun/sea/sand and will recover soon.
At the moment she has a croaky voice, and is a little subdued. But she is taking her paracetamol without complaint and playing quietly.
My sitting room is a bit of a disaster zone at the moment.
(she is currntly using a small walky talking sideways as a guitar!) She has a good imagination.
I am sniffing and sneezing, so a cold is upon me.
The arm is not brilliant, but much improved on the beginning of last week. Thank goodness!

I am at home today, DGD was due to go to nursery tomorrow, then drive to BF's after it, and stop over at his, up early in the morning of Wednesday and off to the airport. I cannot wait now, just want to be off!!

:T:T Thanks. I am sure she will have a ball. She is usually quite a bundle of joy. Luckily BF loves playing with the bucket and spades, and the like. (Well he was good with his children, and has been very good with her lately) so I am sure she will get to build sandcastles, paddle in the atlantic bbrrrrrr, and play football up and down the beach.
Get spoilt by me, with icecreams etc and come back, brown as a berry, as she loves being outside.
That reminds me better go and put the suncream in the bag, forgot to take it at the weekend.

Today seems to becoming one of the longest days of my life, in a while!
What with DGD getting us up at 6am, and being on the go, dispite her cold/cough.
I needed to do the washing as she wet the bed last night, and also my bed needed changing. So with the usual pottering around, I am now struggling. So frusrated at myself as I want to do things but have used up all of my spoons for the day I think!.
My new book is in Oxford in my packing. So i am stressed at myself, and DGD knows it, and is pushing all the wrong buttons!

    Keep calm and carry on!!!
