The council have said they have over paid my benefits by £827.96 as the switch for DS from Dependant to Non-dependant earlier in the year, and I hadnt told them.
They don't allow for her as the fostering allowance is supposed to pay her part of board, however they cannottake the fostering income into account when calculating. Will pointing that out reduce the overpayment?Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

Its not looking like it. They also want the proof of that incme, even though they do not allow it in the sums? But they still got the figures all wrong anyway. I am going to have to prove to them that the father didnt pay mainenance (which is disregarded anyway??), and that the Child Tax Credits had stopped. They still took that into account as my income, which gave me an "excess income". Except I didnt get the Child Tax Credits, from 27/11/09 whichmeans I was living on less then the government say you need to live on( for me). Well I knew I was struggling at the beginning anyway.!
So I have got to take in my tax credit for the previous financial year, and then when the new tax credits, child tax credits etc are sorted out, then I have to change the claim all over again.
What joy!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Good decision re trip into town , dont worry too much about the overpayment i am sure it will get sorted in the end , and at least you are better off than you were back in the early days with DGD. At the end of the day they can't take off you what you dont have
Been sewing here today but after reading your post i am going to declutter my airing cupboard ........got a new bed and the bedding is now no good.........apart from for sewing projects lol*****

I have not been home very long. Went to take DGD to nursery, and DS to College. The traffic was a nightmare and it took me 45 mins to get through Towcester. So we were rushed to get DS to college on time.
I went to buy some reduced plants for the front garden, since the builders removed my complete flower bed, when they repointed the front of the cottage. Got some hanging baskets reduced from £9.99 to £2.50 each. So I got 2 of those, and two terracotta pots with ivy, heathers and pansy flowers also at the same £2.50 reduced price. I couldnt stand the empty front! But now I need the energy to sort them out into the garden.
Shaz, hope your declutter inspiration goes well. I am off to declutter the bedside drawers now. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning. I am about, have been up since5.40am!! Woke before the alarm. Had a really odd night, full of strange dreams. Waking and then ging back to sleep. Woke DS, at 6.30 but he went back to sleep. Woke him again at 6.50! He still wasnt ready and sorted, resulting in us missing the bus. So I hd a long drive again. It took me 90minutes to do the round trip. Double the amount of driving that my arm will cope with. (Especially if its repeatedly!).
So I start the rest of my day 2 hours later then planned. I needed a cup of tea and a rest after the drive.
I also start it tired out.!
I managed to clear out the bedside drawers yesterday, and when I went to collect DS from college, and get his bus pass done, the photo booth was out of action. So I paid for it, giving my proof of ESA, and he has to take a photo today, to be able to get the pass!. We went to the alotted place for the Overalls he needed, and they were just shutting. (by this time we were also soaked due to the sudden downpour from carpark to building),. They were very good though, as when I said I had already driven around 85miles that day and that we came from near Banbury (its 10 miles away, but nearer then Northampton is to us)., He was very good and he let me have the overalls, and took my details, and will send me a receipt in the post. So we were lucky.
We then stopped at the shopping centre where I had seen a photobooth for £3, and DS went to get the picture, (incase the one at the school is still out of action today). We were lucky there too, as he put the money in, but it kept falling out, except it still registered the money and gave him the photographs. So we got them for nothing. (so he got 2 sets!!! haha).
My Dad helped me with the money for the buspass as well!
So with the good deal on the plants it was a disasterous day, that actually turned out to be quite lucky! But so long!.
Twin1 had to collect DGD from the nursery at 6pm as I was still driving around. Iwas about 8 minutes late, which would have cost me £10 late charge if she hadnt been there to collect her on my behalf!
This morning, I am going to do the other bedside locker. Then the next step will be the wardrobes! Thats going to take sometime! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
i think i would have thrown a major strop over him missing the bus (it sometimes gets thro to them )0

Next plan, push bike to the bus stop. I know it's a long way, not nice roads etc, and I know he needs support BUT it's got to go both ways. You cannot keep driving him!
And how is he going to repay you for that petrol? List of jobs around the house ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I agree, he really needs to make that time & cost up to you. I hope that you have an amount of jobs that will take him the 90 minutes, plus the cost of the petrol you used. It is one thing to help him out when needs must, but him missing the bus was just irresponsible. He needs to know that he made a bad choice going back to sleep and his 'debt' must be paid off. It'll be time to light the fire soon, so that will need clearing out, logs cutting and put somewhere to dry etc.0

I dont have the room/or the funds sorted out for the logs yet!So he can clear up the shed and make room!.
He can also cut the lawns, and help to plant the pots I bought yesterday.
He will have to be late if it happens again.!
I am already at the end of the days spoons having had to take twin1 back to her place.
Then ofcourse he will need collecting frm the bus stop eventually. Although I did say if he called around to see G&G then Grandad might offer to bring him back. But having just been to see them he is going shopping, so DS is going to be outof luck!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
you could also try the guilt thing (hope he's not reading this)
really really pile it on about how driving is making you ache
really really make him feel guilty for messing you about
pile it on really thick (cryings good)0
