I got my fingers burnt with the Topshop card (same company, Burtons, Dorothy Perks, Wallis etc). 10% off - great! Then every time I went in there it seemed easier to put it on the card and forget about it.
I can't remember how much the APR was - but it was pretty horrendous. (Just checked 29.9%:eek::eek:)
Anyway, paid it off (or did I transfer the balance - therefore STILL paying it off?), but vowed never again.
Even though that was before my MSE posting days, once bitten and all that....
For those that are disciplined, it's a good idea!0 -
Hi guys
Long time no post , Needless to say ive been off the wagon for a while too.
Its the kids being off school mostly, we cant afford a summer holiday so weve been at home throughout and this incurs epenses in itself.
Weve done loads of day trips including Blackpool yesterday, cinemas twice, parks and museums etc.Its not been very cheap when you incur travel expenses for all of us but weve enjoyed it and they go back next fortnight so can get back on the PaD wagon.
Ill update my sig shortly but its still up at £4600 ish
Pad for today is £4.80 to Platinum.

Well I see you highlighted the bit about using the facility properly.
Of course it's a totally lousy idea if someone feels unable to excercise restraint. The APR is indeed 29.9%. It's sod all if you pay the full bill. I may actually get saddled with the £2.02 interest for the first month but I don't mind for one month as it still represents a saving on the full retail price. In fact, so long as I pay it off by month 4, it would still be a saving though obviously a much smaller one.0 -
Hi Mumof4!
Nice to see you - though I know you've been watching!
Yes school holidays must be expensive with 4 - it's bad enough with 2 (and one of them's in nursery!)
Nevermind, I'm sure you've had fun and will be back on track in no time.
I've got a feeling September will be a bumper PAD month, as there seem to be a few Padders MIA this month
Take care x0 -

Exactly, but as you said, there is a canny loophole for those who can exercise Self-Control. As has already been noted on this thread - I can't! :rotfl:0 -

I think your idea is great Paul, even with one month's interest, you're still saving... sadly I'm with macgirl with the restraint though..... I don't have any either

Hi Sue/DT
Can I be a pain and ask you to post the link to the bingo/scratchie sites again please?! I searched the forums, but can't find the right post....
I joined Butlins Bingo, but need to join one from the other group. I also finally joined Quidco - very excited about that one - so will join thr bingo through that.
Right off to do something productive. Got loads to do today as well as cleaning for my Mum with the broken foot!
Have a good day everyone!0 -
