I need some quick advice please. I'm new and have just joined this lovely group.

I have five credit cards and two are on-line already. The interest rate on them is pretty much the same. Would it be worth transferring the three that are not on-line at the moment to the ones that are? This would make it easier to make payments every day. Any advice?

Also when you make payments do you pay even the small amount onto your card (or whatever else) every day?

    Thanks

I paid onto my card every day when I had credit card debt (Just my mammoth loan now!)

Which cards do you have that aren't online? Most of them can still receive daily payments I think.

    Also, little smiley for you:

    Hi jediteacher!

It would all depend on the interest rates...
If they're lower than the online ones, I'd keep them where they are.
If not, I assume you'd have to pay a transfer fee - so it may work out more expensive, you'll have to do your sums :)

I set up a separate online bank account attached to my current one and I transfer the PADS into that, then distribute accordingly - but some make payments every day. The beauty of PAD club is there are no rules in PAD CLUB!!!:D
Hope that helps and welcome aboard!

    Hey Everyone!
My PAD today is for £10
Been out today and managed to only buy what I needed, dropped down a brand in the supermarket, spent FAR less than I normally do and resisted the temptation to visit any clothes shops.:j

Every spare penny I have is being thrown at the debts, but it ain't coming down fast enough for my liking.
Going to try and apply for another 0% CC tonight to do a transfer, but as I got the knockback from the PO last week, I've lost my nerve a bit...:o

Hope you're all having a Fab Friday!
Cocktail Hour is nearly upon us and the Mac Bar is now open!
PS - Belated Goodbye to Helen Jelly - sorry you're leaving us, but you should defo stick around and post for motivation through tough times x
  • Paid £5 towards my debt today. Getting there

    Debt today (6/11/2009)-£21,570.87

Proud to be dealing with my debts

    Love the smiley. :j:rotfl:

I have an abbey card, citifinancial and m&s card that I don't have online accounts for.
I have egg and virgin online.

At the moment they all have the minimum payment taken out my direct debit every month and then I overpay however much I can afford each month.

Thanks. That does help. I will have to really go through this and see of it's worth it like you suggest.

    Mornin

    PAD today is £1.00

Things have got worse, went to the bank for work (in my lunchtime)and bumped into a client, was late for back by 5 mins and I got grilled by the Accountant.................as far as he is concerned I have been swanning about and been on a different planet this month!!!

I have always worked in places that have been flexible and always have given more to my work than I have taken. Just in the last month alone I have worked late (unpaid) about 3/5 nights a week, spoken to clients in my (unpaid) dinnertime, visited clients at their workplaces (i am the only one other than this accountant) who does this, offered to help 2 client build websites to help their business, dropped everything to try and help him with a tricky job that he couldn't do..............................I was tried and convicted, now I feel awful. He slammed me for everything, so have been in wracking sobs since 2.30pm yesterday. Even when I eventually defended myself, he said that he was sorry he didn't know, NOT sorry he had misjudged me. I am torn between saying stuff you, I will no longer bend over backwards to help this firm but why should I change who I am................OH wants me to go to ACAS. Couldn't even eat my lunch, cos I was so worried that he would accuse me of taking liberties.............he might of well of accused me of stealing, I feel so hurt and he still thinks he is justified. I am not sure I can still carry on working there, he has been picking on me on and off for about 18 months.............he even really shouted at me about a job and my so called mess up and it turned out I hadn't even done it. He storms into my office and he complains that I have my door nearly shut, he has even had a go at me about how I park

so so so sorry for going on again................

    God, what a knob,

Is there anyone at work who will stick up for you?.

I know its hard to feel brave when someone is on at you all the time but if you stand up to him and start telling him what a !!!!!! he really is he probably will respect you a lot more.
If your place of work is getting you down like this, i think you need a change!
  • Hi,

Another £9.39 for me please off the Barclaycard!.

You sound like your being really discplined macgirl keep it up and you will get your rewards.

Catch you really need to think about what you want out of life cause your other half and i really dont mean to offend sounds like a selfish prat, doesnt seem to me he has much love for you.
Feel sorry for you trying to get your debts under control, plugging away and he's drinking all your potential pad money away.
He sounds like my dad and i hate him now and have no respect and no wish to have him in my life, so if you do have any kids his risking his relationship with them also. I really really cant believe how other men treat there women sometime's..

By the way my other half said to me earlier that i was like a new man and she loves me even more, i think its got a hell of a lot to do with getting my debts under control, all this padding and getting my driving licence.
I feel really amazing at the mo, thanks for all your posts and support to not just me but everyone.
I finally feel like im supporting my family and being the dad and husband/boyfriend i wanted to be!!!!!!
    Happy days:T
