I will be having a week off from PADs shortly due to holiday starting Friday. I will post anything that left my account when I get back. Due to holiday spending money, I am seriously skint. Tax bill not completely paid. Council tax not paid yet this month (hope to sort this before I go). Road tax due when I get back. Leaning heavily on my overdraft at the moment On a brighter note, I did manage to get paid for a couple of large jobs in cash (a cheque wouldn't have cleared before my holiday). This holiday is a financial hiccup but I badly need it. Also, I'm owed a couple of grand from customers so I reckon there will be some cheques on my mat when I return.
Another small reprieve is that from September 1st, my mortgage will cost £130 less than I have been paying so far. That will help. Being off my fixed rate makes me feel a little more vulnerable but at the moment, at least it's saving me money. Now on the 3 monthly LIBOR rate + 2%. Hardly a good deal but OK at the moment.

It seems that not very much goes right for you Pual, I really hope that you enjoy your holiday, sounds like you could do withsome r&r!

Top tips are very much welcome angelic with that new diet you're going to try!

    Hey Danko,

Not so much as a diet really, more like cleansing...for an area that shouldn't be spoken about at breakfast time! (think colonic! :o)

Not at all. Things are going far better than they have in ages.
I won't bemoan my lot at all. I have food, shelter, work that I'm reasonably happy with, my own little business, some degree of inner peace and a way of viewing life that frequently takes great humour in its absurdities.
I spent some of my teens and early 20s living in squats and a derelict caravan with a drug habit.
That's why financial stuff often seems a bit surreal to me.
When you have already lived a chunk of your life outside the scope of most people's worst nightmares, I won't say that the rest is easy, but it certainly puts it into perspective.

Which CC would you fabulous people recommend??

    1. Bra-claycardo (6.9% LOTB)
    2. sMint (14.9% LOTB)
    3. Virgin on the Ridiculous (34.9%)
    4. Spend it on me :rotfl: :rotfl:

I know which option I like! :rotfl: I think I know where it's going to go but that CC ain't moving very quickly at all so I'm inclined to throw it else where to get rid of another card... decisions decisions!

You know it's got to go to Virgin. 34.9%

    Well done thisisforthekids!

I was a late starter on the driving front too at 24. I did try at 18 but had the worst driving instructor in the world. I hated it so much I actually hid from him on the last lesson I had booked with him! lol

Second time around, I found a really nice, patient instructor and also went on to pass first time. What a difference a good instructor can make hey?!

Anyway, I digress. I know how hard it can be to start something like that later than everyone else (at least that's how it felt at the time), so well done and CONGRATULATIONS!
