A Payment A Day Part 4

Hi All,
I wanted your advice on something:
I am planning a trip to (don't laugh - I know this means I'm sad! lol) a fan convention for a show that I LOVE, called Suernatural.
Now, this one will be in Germany in May next year, but they are already taking bookings and the tickets for these events sell out pretty fast (I went to one in the UK last year).
It's a 3 day event and will cost €105 (plus hotel room, travel and spending money - but I have more time to save for those).
They do offer the option to pay in 4 instalments, which is great. However, I can't afford it until payday, but am scared that they will all be sold out by then.
My cheque from A&L in respect of mis-sold PPI insurance will arrive soon, for 358.20 GBP.
At the moment, if I want to secure my ticket, I will have to use this to make the first instalment, but I was wondering if I would just be better off paying the full amount instead. I could then budget to make up for this difference over the following months.
What do you think?
PS. I am going with a friend, and I will be booking the tickets for both of us and she will be transferring her monthly instalment to my UK bank account each month.
I would just FEEL better paying it all up front, but don't know if this is the best option.

Hi,
I've just found this thread and was wondering if I could join? I have quite a few debts to clear and this sounds like a good way - every little helps.
I was wondering how people make the payments every day? I don't think my credit cards can have money paid in every day or every week. I might be being a little dim?
Thanks'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'

Make your PAD any way you like - I do all mine online, I originally paid off my credit card daily and now I save into a savings account so I can pay off my loan early. Check your credit card statements and they should give you bank details to pay to and many of them can now be managed online. Let us know which ones you have - we will all either have them now or have had them in the past :rotfl:

Is it more expensive paying in instalments? if so definitely pay up front if not and you are worried about it put the full amount into a savings account and earn a bit of interest on it - if you are disciplined enough not to touch it.

No, it costs nothing extra to pay in instalments.
It's just that the original plan was for the full amount of this money to go straight on the VCC (highest interest).
Even if I pay the full amount up front, for both of us, I will still have (approx) 170-180 GBP left to pay to the VCC (in addition to my normal monthly payment).
And, in order to make up for me not paying the full amount to the VCC straight away, I was planning on making an additional 46 GBP (approx) payment each month for 4 months. Half of this will come from my friend for her share of the ticket, and the other half will come from me (as I would've been paying approx 23 GBP each month, for four months, for my ticket).
It should be fine, it's just that I know that I'll end up paying slightly more in interest on VCC this way. But, I will also feel a lot better about it being all booked and paid for. I can then concentrate of setting a realistic budget for the rest of the weekend and start saving for it.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
