  • Not at all. Things are going far better than they have in ages.
I won't bemoan my lot at all. I have food, shelter, work that I'm reasonably happy with, my own little business, some degree of inner peace and a way of viewing life that frequently takes great humour in its absurdities.
I spent some of my teens and early 20s living in squats and a derelict caravan with a drug habit.
That's why financial stuff often seems a bit surreal to me.
When you have already lived a chunk of your life outside the scope of most people's worst nightmares, I won't say that the rest is easy, but it certainly puts it into perspective.
Whatever all the superficial stuff brings, dignity comes from within.

I probably should have worded my post better, what I meant was that it seemed like nothing was going right for a while and now it's getting better you deserve a nice week off and some r&r.

I do try to word my posts in a way that's understandable but I guess sometimes I get a bit confused about what I'm trying to say...I blame the kids! :D

  • Hi,

I've just found this thread and was wondering if I could join? I have quite a few debts to clear and this sounds like a good way - every little helps.

I was wondering how people make the payments every day? I don't think my credit cards can have money paid in every day or every week. I might be being a little dim?

    Thanks

Sorry you can't join...we've got too many sci-fi geeks on here as it is! :rotfl:

Welcome to the rest the newbies aswel x

Hope everyone is having a good week and has had some of the sunshine we've been getting down here. x P.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

  • The cheque from my lovely Dad has cleared today so as well as the earlier PAD, I have done £240 to OH's overdraft, and written a letter closing the account, £609.77 to smEgg, clearing that one (again!) and £150.23 to the Virgin card, so total PAD in £1000:j

Was lovely having that money in my account, but can't wait to see it come off the card balances :D

Hey, had to post as very excited but nervous!!!
Just got the local paper and in the jobs section was a position for:Art Lover with admin and retail experience preferred fornew wine bar/gallery opening up. Really want this as it would be perfect, 3mins walking from home n 5 days 9-5. Called and she asked re the experience parts of the job, then she asked about the art bit. I said that tho I didn't have qualifications, I enjoy art and appreciating it. She then offered me an interview tomorrow - YAY! So am now on wiki researching art - keep your fingers crossed for me as I'll be studying till tomorrow I think!!!
