Yes, I was window shopping on the net last night and put a pair of jeans and a lovely top in the basket at a well known clothing retailer. Total came to £78.
I justified the purchase that I would wear them to death and they'd look great at a do I'm off to next week.
Then I could hear Angelic telling me I had no Self-Control - so I walked away.
Therefore my PAD for today is £78! How healthy does that sound!!Debt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -

So OH gets a wage advance as a way of an apology for the inconvienence.
The last 3 pay days they didn't add onto his what was owed (neither the pay pay or the hours he was due) which is why the shopping was going on cc.
Then they announced that he was only due 8 days of paternity pay and they still haven't paid the hours he missed out on but they want the cash advance back and the extra paternity leave pay.
I really hope that makes some kind of sense as it's quite complicated!
EDIT - That doesn't make any sense!
Here's the simple version - He has to pay back his advance when he hasn't been paid the money to pay it back plus the 6days of pat pay.
I hope that's easier to understand!:hello: Hey Angelic!
I saw my name being whispered like a call to Zorro! :rotfl:
What a nightmare with non-paymentsI don't quite understand why your lovely OH was only paid 8 days Paternity leave? Normally, you have to take either one block week or two consecutive weeks within 56 days of the baby being born providing you meet the qualifying criteria.
There are some great websites about with lots of information out there. One in particular is www.direct.gov.uk and type in paternity rights. Some useful links there.
You can contact the HM Revenue and Customs Employees enquiry line on 0845 302 1479 for advice or even ACAS who offer impartial advice on 08457 47 47 47. They may be able to help out with the legalities on the overpayment too. This article on ACAS's website may be an interesting read especially if your OH works in retail: http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1488
By the sounds things, they've made such a bodge up, it may be wise your OH speaking to his Union rep or even looking at raising a formal grievance to get it resolved... Good luck
Hope that kind of helps?:rotfl: Just let me know if you need any more help. I'm full of useless carp :rotfl: Let us know how he gets on

No! I REALLY DID NOT BUY THEM!!!! :A
Are you proud of me? I've already transferred the cash into my PAD account ready to chuck it towards EGG!
Thanks mate x
Sorry about the diet - I'm the same. Have decided I'm going out running in the morning (haven't been out for WEEKS), then I'll get back on the "healthy eating plan" (well - I'm not eating biscuits diet). Tonight though, I'm knackered, so as I'm staying in - I'm having a cheeky glass of wine or 3 and a couple of treats!0 -

Thanks Danko, the numbers are really helpful!
He was basically told that his days off count as paternity leave, I didn't think it worked like that?
A grievence would take forever as there's only one HR guy for 3 stores so they don't 'go over budget'!! (Tesco - worried about budgeting!!)
This has been going on for a couple of months now, if they're not careful I might get involved - I don't think they'd wantto see my temper!
