A Payment A Day Part 4

Double_Trouble wrote: »Depends on what the go to rate of Barclaycard is hopefully less than 34.9%. What about a LOB rate from Barclaycard? And most importantly how long do you think you are going to take to pay off the debt. If you aren't earning after August you are not going to be offered any new deals from anyone. Have you tried for a new card now whilst you are still earning with hopefully a higher credit limit and a longer 0% deal?
Just a few thoughts I am not PAD until August but I am still reading.
DTxxThanks for the post DTI'm going to ask again about a LOB thing or a BT when I pay the thing off in 21 days time
If I only BT 'til December, after that I'll be paying 19.9% - better than the 34.9% but it's still pretty huge on student livings. Reckon it's going to take me atleast 2 years to pay the thing off as I'll only be able to manage tiny PADs during Uni (but that's only for a year 'til I get a teaching job)
I've been applying for new cards over the last few months but no-one wants to give me anything. Over the weekend I tried Scallyfax, Tesco, Capital 1 amongst others and they're all no.
Still counting on that lottery win!!

He said no so left it. Today i got a letter from their head offices saying i owe them £178.96 due to them overpaying me!!!! My OH blew his top. I'm so annoyed with them. They've given me 2 payment options - 1 settle in full or 2 pay in installments for a max of 6months. OH and my mum both said tell them they can whistle for it but i'm not one for confontation and just want it gone. Look like my pad's are gonna be very small till end of july:(
So just 80p today
Hey nickynoo. What a bummer, and you questioned it too. I am also one to shy away from confrontation (first to do so) but I reckon take a deep breath and at least argue back first. Maybe send them a letter explaining you raised this with your manager who advised the pay was correct? You don't work for them anymore so have nothing to lose in trying (assuming you have a reference etc sorted). They may admit its their mistake and offer to accept a lower amount. Its a long shot and and I'm not sure what the position is legally but gotta be worth a try rather than paying up straight away? Even if you write the letter it might buy you some breathing time to budget...? Can you drop into citizens advice to find out the legal position? Or even post somewhere? You're an MSE so have a crack first!! Good luck. If all else fails then "rent a mob" padders will send your ex - HR manager junk mail!!
