    Hello again all.

I am making a second PAD today - £20 - just been over to Wimbledon to buy some books and had set some cash aside but nothing inspired me (and I suspect I secretly wanted to pad it all along, lol)

Didn't see any tennis players mooching around....I am maybe planning on queuing overnight next Friday for Saturday Wimbledon tickets.

I know, not very MSE - ticket and spends for the day will be £100+ and then the beers and meal afterwards....But I'm thinking its only once a year - I am a HUGE tennis fan - and who knows if I will be in London next year and how many other Wimbledons I'll be able to get to? (I live about 3 miles away from the grounds now) But thats a lot for a day. What do you think PADDERS? We can't PAD absolutely everything can we? :o

It's all about balance Andy we still need to have a life whilst paying off this debt what it means is an extra week or so paying off your debts not a lot in the scheme of things - go for it :j

    Hello everyone,

Well in my endeavouring to make money for padding I do extra exam marking and it's that time of year again - but its sooooooo boring! So I am on here to spend my 5 minute break (yes I am being very strict with myself, I have to get ahead of schedule as I will be going to a little concert next weekend...)

People are right Andy you have got to have a bit of balance with things, its nice to have something to look forward to.

I went for a barbeque at my mums for fathers day and I am now massively sunburnt on my arms grrr. It hurts!

    Right back to it...

Get to the tennis Andy, we all need a break and a life while we pay debts off. Otherwise we wouldnt appreciate our little such as concerts Wimbledon, camping etc.

Angelic - am afraid i agree with you totally that he should be spending time with the kids on Fathers Day. He's having a laugh surely!

He's not normally like that, I'm not sure what got into him! I took the kiddes over 2 my parents 2 give my dad his present so was away for about 3hours when travelling time is taken into account so when I got back we went for a cuppa round at my sisters before going home as she only stays around the corner but that killed another hour - I tried to stay away as long as I could so he'd feel guilty and it worked!! So anyway, I went to give dad his present and ended up buying a bed from a millionaire!;):D Sarah - I grrr'd aswel but he's got the week off work so he'll have to make a special effort to hang out with them - I need to have a good clear out of all the junk in the house so he'll have to be on call for the next 7 days to change dirty nappies :rotfl:
I don't have any children and I've never been married either. I did cohabit with two women (at different times) and spent a chunk of my adult life helping (or hindering) the bringing up of the children they already had but I've never had any of my own. I had a fair bit of input into my nephew's upbringing when he was still with his mother (my sister) as his father was almost entirely absent. It's not the same with a nephew I suppose, but maybe in some ways it is better. At least he knew I was there because I wanted to be there rather than because I had to be. Also, the cohabiting relationships were quite traumatic (particularly one of them) and it was better to break contact in order to preserve sanity. No judgement be passed on me for this because I would have to spill a lot of deeply personal stuff to explain why things went the way they did and I'm not prepared to do that on an open forum. Suffice to say that even many years later, in the cold light of day, I honestly believe I did the right thing by walking.

I can't even get my own father a father's day card (he was 80 a couple of weeks back). He doesn't celebrate stuff like that due to his membership of a mind controlling cult. I felt a bit cheated at not being able to send him a birthday card (he lives 200 miles away and we rarely meet and never phone) but I've kind of grown used to that down the years. At least not having to buy family Christmas and birthday presents is a good moneysaver anyway.
Money saving tip of the day: Get your relatives to become Jehovahs Witnesses :D

Better to walk away and be happy rather than staying and being miserable! It's nice that you were involved with your nephew's upbringing - I just hope you're now (obviously depending on his age!) going to teach him the value of the pound!

Not nice that you can't buy your dad a card or present though, hopefully he'll know you're thinking of him.

Nah, far too much like hard work !! LOL. My younger sis had her three month scan Friday for her first and all OK so I am looking forward to being "Uncle A" between Christmas and New Year, although I hope she has it a week early as I'm in Thailand for Xmas!

So I hope you mums are all treating OH's, letting them watch the grand prix and sending the kids in with beer on demand.

Do first babies not always come late?! I went 9days over with DD...The waiting was awful!

I made OH a great big (grilled) fry-up this morning which was sooo massive he couldn't eat it all!

Anyway, back to my new millionaire 'friend'...She lives in a HUGE 15 bedroomed house and has 7 kids, her car looks more like a lorry and the 'reception area' (very posh!) was gorgeous with it's solid wood floor and bone china everywhere! The carpets in the house were so thick and lush, it was like walking on a mattress (not like my cheap carpet right carpets!)
Her house has 3 floors and it's more than a mansion than a family home. I made a joke about swappiny my 2-bed semi detatched with her and she laughed and said - we all need to start somewhere dear

The bed I got though was a real bargain, it's a cot bed for Adam when he's old enough for it (I know that won't be for ages yet but it was a bargain so couldn't resist) then she gave me a bag of bedding and a douvet and told me that it would be going to charity if I didn't take it, I kind of felt like a charity case taking it but what the hell!

That was a huge post - sorry! :D

Hello everyone - I am joining you again. I was last here early this year when I had to pay off a £1400 HSBC overdraft. Anyway, my next target is a loan with Natwest, which currently stands at £4551, my monthly payment is £137.90 (1st of month) and I have 28 payments left (27 after 1st July).

My DH had been made redundant and has been lucky enough to land another job (albeit on 50% of what he used to earn) so things are a bit tight at the moment. I'm understandably a bit panicky of chucking money "that I can't get back" at the loan itself, so I plan to carry on paying the direct debits, using PAD money to put to oneside, and then all being well at some point i'll have enough PAD money to pay off the remainder of the loan!

I'll post this evening if I manage to PAD anything today.

    Hi all,
I love the idea of PAD and just wondered what people do to find the money for the extra payments?
    Any extra income ideas welcome

    Hi gingernutbizkit ( great name ! ) hellowave.gif .

Welcome to the madhouse . Good luck with your payment a day , either small or large it's surprising how quickly it all adds up . Some people include their minimum payments as their PAD , others don't it's entirely up to you .

In answer to your question about where people find their extra PADs .... some people sell on Ebay etc .... some people use their daily click money ... some use their odd change that they have left .... some " round " their bank accounts up or down .... daily free scratchcard money .... basically where ever they can ! ;)
